    Whipple Intercooler

If you remove the entire grill shutter module, you will eventually get a check engine light and will need to be turned off in the tune. What I'm getting at is don't take them out of you plan on running the stock tune. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    3.0l piston tech

The ST 3.0l has a surprisingly nice piston. Here are some comparison to the 2.7l truck piston. The biggest stand out difference is the addition of a piston cooling gallery, which is very common in a diesel piston and is also used in the 3.5l ho (raptor and limited) piston. This allows oil to be...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

E10 93 is better than no e93 especially in these. Just like e50 is better than 93 and e85 is king. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

I'm pretty sure anyone interested in tuning understands the risk of modifying their vehicle. So what exactly are you trying to get at? Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    Turbo Upgrade! Market Research

Wisconsin. If you want to do turbos, I suggest going with crp, because they are already in Canada I've been working with them on something a little better than the stage 3. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

Low octane... 94 would be better. Could have 2 tunes for wouldn't have to run 94 all the time. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    Turbo Upgrade! Market Research

It's going to be harder to make good power that's for sure. But bigger turbine =less cylinder pressure and less cylinder pressure means the octane doesn't have to be as much. So it'll make more, probably about 100 more than what we could on stock turbos and 91. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    Stock fuel system e85 tuning

Alright guys Explorer ST, I get asked this a lot. “I want to run ethanol, but I do not want to mix fuels and I’m not sure I want to buy the Xreme DI pump yet, is that my only options?” I typically try to get people into either e50 or buying the HPFP because that is what it takes if you want to...

    Downpipes

Intercooler is the number 1 issue. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    Downpipes

Yes, tuning wise I'm seeing good gains with downpipes. The st seems to be picking up 3-4 lbm/ min of air flow, which is consistent with 20-30hp. Of course you'll only see the gains of you are pushing the limits of the turbos. Even if you are not pushing them to the max it will still help...

    Turbo Upgrade! Market Research

Like I said it comes down to advertising and perception/target market. If you look at ford and Lincolns own website it says aluminum as the block material which is partly true I guess. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

Here is the st motor, the CGI upper block is visible. This is true on all Nano applications, all Nanos have the cgi upper block. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    Turbo Upgrade! Market Research

That's incorrect it is still a compacted graphite iron upper. It comes down to advertising Ford advertises the truck motors as having the iron block because that matters to people cuz they want the perception to be that it is a strong motor and really only half of the block the upper half is...

    Turbo Upgrade! Market Research

The 3.0 liter has the compacted graphite iron upper block which is very robust. The weakest link on a 2.7 seems to be the pin bore on the piston. I've been told the 3.0 liter is a substantially better piston so I don't know what the failure mode is going to be yet. I'm predicting connecting...

    Turbo Upgrade! Market Research

The 3.0>3.5 in my opinion. We were able to squeeze 600 horsepower out of a 2.7 l do 550 to 580 pretty regularly. I think 650 on an un opened motor is realistic but it also probably won't last forever at that power level. Kind of the game you play when you are modifying though. Sent from my...

    Turbo Upgrade! Market Research

Here are some initial data from the pure turbos. We are currently at the limits of the fuel system just barely leaning the new turbos. These things are going to move out once we get more fuel system! Trap speed has consistently been 118-119. Which would put this in the 550-600 hp range. Sent...
