I assume the procedure for TMPS sensors is the same for explorer 2017 XLT or your ST.

Do you know what could be the issue with the following:
- I have 1 bad TMPS sensor which car detects even after swapping wheels front to rear;
- I bought 1 new sensor from Ford dealership who was using my VIN to make sure I got the right one (F2GZ-1A189-A);
- Before installing sensor to tire, I went to one shop and they tried to read the signal from sensor but failed;
- I went to dealership and exchange it to a new one, tried to relearn it using grey tool + retrain mode. I managed to do it for first 2 sensors but the third one which I am trying to replace I tried new one and it did not work.

I read other forums and someone suggest to use OBD tool + forscan to remove existing sensors and try from a scratch (I have FORScan ELM327 and some old version of app itself)

Went today to dealer and the answer was very easy. There is no way to check if ford tpms sensor is ok or not until you actually put it to the tire. The presure itself turning it on.

I'm reading through this thread as my driver front sensor went out over the weekend.

I drove a few miles (less than 10) still hasn't come up.

I also tried the manual relearn with the clicker tool. I got it to beep for the other wheels, but not the new one. Chatgpt says I got the wrong one and need to get this one: https://a.co/d/dLRrSMG

Should I try pulling the battery next? Or just drive some more?

I have forscan, is there anything there I can do?

It seems that maybe all 315mhz sensors are not the same, and maybe there are some other communication protocols to be taken into account.

Sounds like you got a bad sensor. And any 315mhz sensor will work.
