Thanks for the quick advice and reply. Playing phone tag with their service advisor and will see what they come back with, and update the thread. Great to have this community as a resource for sure!

Just dropped my Explorer off at our Ford store for the exact same oil leak.

Will keep updating as I hear from them.

21 with 55k miles.

just had transfer case, front/rear diff service done about 1000 miles ago.

70K miles, leaking oil, but no codes. I've covered it in RTV to stave the flow.

Has anyone attempted to tackle this TSB themselves? I'm out of warranty and 7 hours for a $3.00 o-ring is a lot....

Youtube implies that if you undo the motor mount you can wiggle it enough to get the blocked bolt out of the way. I would like to know if this method actually works before I pull it apart in the garage and get into a bad place. I don't have a lift, so I will be working on the floor.

Every mechanic I've called has said this is a royal PITA and quoted me the full 7 hours. I can't believe there isn't a better way.

The sealant will last a while but not forever. I did the FADA delete TSB since I was already removing it, the parts are relatively cheap (intermediate shaft and new axle half shaft) and I have capability to use FDRS for flashing the AWD module. That FordBossMe video explains it and can confirm it is doable and not too difficult... about 3-4 hrs total including front diff oil refill and flashing. I used my long prybar to push the motor mount out of the way of the bolts.

The parts are pretty cheap and I can just pay ford to flash it. Seems silly to take it all apart and not replace the failure prone component. The suspension and CV work don't bother me at all. How hard was it to push the motor mount out of the way and back into place? That's my hangup on this whole job.
