This is my 2nd Explorer ST, my first was a 23 that was tuned and modded. And the moment the 25's are cracked, this warranty will be void as well.

But keep on trolling all you want.
It was cracked yesterday.....

Taken in context, that post is from a thread for parts for new 2025 owners. It might be important information for EVERYONE to know. NOTE: I said "warranties" Plural addressing everyone involved.
Thanks for bringing attention to that thread, it could be helpful to new members.

And now that you're stalking through all my posts, why didn't you post this one?
I traded my 23 ST for a 25 ST. I still have my Accessport with Cobb maps for the 23. Is it likely that Cobb will release 25 maps once the PCM is unlocked?
Also, apologies to the OP for having your thread derailed by Unbroken. It's completely unnecessary. I'm not going to feed it anymore.

This thread is why owner's manual's exist. Follow it and you'll be fine. It was created by the professional engineers at Ford who designed the engine.
No disrespect, but the “professional engineers” got more than the oil level wrong. i.e.- small intercooler, limited gauge selection, no manual release on the lift gate, single bolt differential, to name a few. Just my opinion, but I tend to lean more towards the folks who have picked the vehicle apart and tested its abilities than the monkeys who write the owners manual.

Coming from the world of a Ford dealership and meeting some of the on-site “engineers” they send…

I trust these forums over any Ford rep/service tech/engineer

Just completed another oil change this past weekend. This time I got the engine HOT by running errands for a couple hours. Let it drain for 30 minutes to get as much out as possible. Added 6 quarts, no more, no less. After resting overnight, the cold level (red line) has been above the upper circle checking three mornings in a row. After reading up on the wrong dipstick issues with the Broncos, it appears the circle isn't really the maximum on our 3.0 dipsticks. I would imagine if running 6.5qt, the resting oil would be closer the the bend. Just another head scratcher with some of these Ford engineers.

Quality control, it’s job one. Not surprising but also not the first time I’ve seen a dipstick off.

With 6.5 qts of fresh cold oil just put in, car hasnt even been started yet with the new oil. This is where it sits. Right where the bend starts. After driving, getting it up to temp, and shutting it off for 10 mins, it may sit at a different spot. I’ll try to upload a pic of that scenario later.

Also, i used an extractor from the dip stick for all the oil. I wanted to see how much was still in the pan and endure it was empty. so i pulled the drain plug - waste of time. There was maybe a couple ounces if that.

My 2020 consumes quite a bit of oil and builds up in the catch can too. So it’s important to know where 6.5 qts sits since i’m adding oil regularly. I’m trying valvoline restore and protect to see if it can fix the consumption issue. I haven't had the car long so I didn't monitor it closely enough at first but i believe i’m adding 1-2 qts every 5k. Oil pan looks like it needs a gasket too. Doesn't drip though.

The ST user manual says to check the level properly you need to run the engine until it’s at temp. Then shut it off, and wait 10 minutes. And then your oil should be within the cross hatches like you’d expect. Checking it cold will always read high like that. Scared me the first time i saw that.

I’m not offended but as an engineer, i’ll say this is the type of stuff we push hard to get right and management and management’s management, and management’s management’s management shut us down because of rushed deadlines and budget. It’s sad but true

Agree. Run it, wait 10 minutes or so then check it.
