2023 Explorer St JB4 install problem.

It’s almost inevitable on forums that the people that admittedly know little get their feelings hurt by the people that actually know a thing or two because the facts don’t align with what they want to hear…then they resort to insults or other childish crap. If you don’t want to listen to the...

    Stock turbo PSI???

It will vary based on quite a few things. It’s a torque based engine strategy so they’ll make the boost they’re told to make to hit the torque target. It’ll make less boost on a cold day and more on a hot day for example.

2023 Explorer St JB4 install problem.

The sensors on the ST’s 3.0 and the sensors on your completely different 2.3 and most certainly not in the same place.

2023 Explorer St JB4 install problem.

It’s just a simple reality…no piggyback module can tune the transmission to make it safe for the additional power. It’s just not possible. And adding power without a trans tune is a recipe for failure with the 10R60. I took the JB4 off my GTI/DSG because of the same thing.

2023 Explorer St JB4 install problem.

Adding all this power with zero trans tuning is a recipe for a large repair bill. Makes no sense honestly.

    'Worthwhile' bolt-ons

Looks like intercooler corrected to intake and I didn’t catch it.

    'Worthwhile' bolt-ons

Dyno numbers from people that put in the effort range from mid-teens to 20 on 93 and mid 20’s on E50. All catted…various brands.

    Lowering springs with OEM shocks

I honestly don’t understand people paying to PC these parts a different color. You can’t see them once they’re remounted unless you’re down on the ground looking for them. Are you gonna lay under the car and wash them too? lol

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

You get the trailer attached warning every time you start the car?

    'Worthwhile' bolt-ons

Your big 2 are tune and intercooler. After that downpipes consistently show 25ish HP and a CAI a few more. Most things after that are for sound, looks or just because you wanna do it.

    Gear Head Auto Octane Tune

Did you drive it long enough to circulate the ethanol blended fuel up to the engine? I try to get 15 miles minimum in.

    Anyone do rear only spacers?

I’ve yet to see a Bora spacer snap a stud. I’ve seen tons of cheap spacers snap studs. You’re right…lots of things are made in the same place. You’re leaving out that they’re made with no more than the amount of quality the client pays for…they’re not all created the same. I personally don’t...

    Anyone do rear only spacers?

There’s zero chance I’d put cheap spacers like that on anything…ever. Some things just aren’t worth risking.

    Gear Head Auto Octane Tune

You can blend up to E30 on anyone’s tune…you don’t need a specific tune for it.

    Intake pipe

I cut mine apart and measured the cross section area where it’s pinched down…that area was still larger than the inlet at the IC. Does it make a difference? Probably not. Does it look cool under the hood if you’re trying to not be embarrassed at a local car show? Absolutely. I have tons of...

    Gear Head Auto Octane Tune

Stop looking at dyno numbers from different places. They will vary wildly and are a useless comparison. Track numbers, and to a large degree Dragy numbers, don’t lie.

2023 Explorer ST 4 Bolt Rear End Support

A few stragglers that just got lucky but nothing with any consistency.

    Anyone do rear only spacers?

I swear if y’all would just do the alignment right you wouldn’t need a spacer at all. The track width is identical front to rear. Set the rear camber at -1° and the tires will match front to rear with no spacer needed if that’s all you’re after. Then you also don’t have spacers on the car that...

    Lowering springs with OEM shocks

There are no aftermarket shocks or struts made for lowering springs.
  20. UNBROKEN

    Anyone do rear only spacers?

Nope…although I’ve been playing with mine more and I’m recommending now to go for -1° I did some measuring and on my car that’s closer to dead even front to rear.
