The best way to confuse a 10R is to start by giving it full send-type throttle, maybe for a pass or whatever, then let off (say you think you saw incoming traffic), and then get back in it when you figure out there is no traffic. The tease blip, and then resume go, will freak it out.

Hell, mine took about 10 seconds once I hit start before they actually started logging (loading services). Then stop logging and sync.

I logged mine with the knock and reported it in notes. The knock wasn't nasty, only when starting off at the low RPM in 3rd gear. Yes, the 1-2 shift is full send.

The 10R's get confused now and then, but haven't ever seen them get that confused...

Depending on throttle usage, you will have more firm shifts in Sport. Likely increased line pressure to reduce heat. It behaves more like a Mustang 10R80 now. I have learned that most of the time I dont need a lot of pedal to get moving, so I don't feel the hard shifts as much. Just getting used...

Mine actually were in both Normal and Sport. It's the best Ford transmission I've had yet, in OEM form. The tuning made sport mode do odd things, but it got better over the days. It reminded me of the 10R80 on the Mustang, cold in sport mode.
