Have you tried noticing if it happens in different gears? Try going into manual shift mode and try to reproduce in different gears, also try in neutral with a coast. Basically see if it is drivetrain or body causing it.

If the shutters were malfunctioning causing overheating, the entire vehicle will be in an overheat state, not just the transmission as the trans cooler is in the cooling circuit.

How are you liking the diff pinion bushings. I have them new in box but didn't install because I saw some stuff that they are breaking or causing NVH.

Could be due to either coolant or oil blowby getting into your exhaust. If the vehicle is running properly I'd be looking at the turbos. It would probably be evident if one of them is leaking into the exhaust by inspecting the turbo side of the downpipe/cat.

Thats one hell of a catastrophic failure if the diff engagement surfaces inside were no longer meshing or the shafts somehow snapped.
