Resources on Ford Approved Engine Oil for the 3L EB

Hah I had it in my Walmart cart yesterday and went to purchase this morning, Out of Stock. I guess everyone here ran and ordered it up!

    SuperForged Big Brake Kit Review

Thanks i'll have to go fire up Facebook I guess lol. Even the GT350 will be a score. I just feel the stock fronts especially are just way too weak for a 450HP+ (modded) vehicle of this size.

    SuperForged Big Brake Kit Review

Yea ideally just to improve overall brake performance not hardcore type stuff that would get me into trouble being unbalanced. I wouldn't mind dropping $1500 on a GT500 setup. I checked ebay but didnt see anything. Recommend sites to look around on for stuff like this?

    SuperForged Big Brake Kit Review

OK yea i can see that affecting things in an unpleasant manner. The full Superforged kit looks to be the way, tough pill to swallow when it comes to the $$ even though I'm sure you get what you pay for.

    SuperForged Big Brake Kit Review

Is there a serious saftey concern? I mean won't the ABS keep doing its job as always preventing front lock-up?

    SuperForged Big Brake Kit Review

Awesome thanks for all your work and linking the thread! I priced a GT500 front left caliper alone and its $700. This option will add up super fast to be the price of the Superforged front BBK at this rate. I suppose the cost savings is if I can find some used GT500 front brake sets.

25 ST Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power

I had a 15' Forester XT that was cobb tuned. Loved that little SUV, definately a little sleeper with that WRX engine under the hood (albiet a bit de-tuned more for low end torque). Still was a fun vehicle and surprised every passenger with how she moved. I moved into the ST when checking out the...

    Thermal R&D 2.5" installed

You may need to adjust all the clamps evenly to get to the desired tip position , just keep that in mind. Better to adjust a few a little then try to make up all the room with just one set of clamps leaving not much between pipe ends. Oh I know NJ cold. I grew up in Woodbridge not far from you.

    SuperForged Big Brake Kit Review

Oh you have my attention I was unaware of this option. I really want to do the GT500 swap. I read (https://www.explorerst.org/threads/explorer-st-modding-101-guide.7324/) here about it but have no idea on what to purchase and where the best places is to go to for this stuff and not having luck...

25 ST Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power

Not talking about clearing to "fix" anything, just to read the specific code to understand more accurately what is going on. In my example case clearing the code was fine because I know what happened and it wasn't due to something broken.

    SuperForged Big Brake Kit Review

Would just getting the front Superforged BBK be OK. I'm not racing, just want better braking performance for "spirited" street driving. Does the rear really need an upgrade being most of the stopping is done at the front?

    Replacing Front Rotors and Pads.

Curious did you use stock pads or went with an "upgrade" , if so what did you use and how do you like them?

    S&B or K&N CAI

ZFG told me that there is more performance left on the table with stock versus with a CAI using their Race drive mode which is mapped to the Sport drive mode. I didn't ask how much but I'm guessing it's not a ton.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I put the steeda tower brace on mostly for cosmetics. I'm sure it will help in super aggressive turns but I also wasn't expecting to feel a real difference. The stock brace is hardly that, while it will offer some support it is just a flimsy piece of stamped steel.

    Thermal R&D 2.5" installed

They should have ample room to adjust with the nice clamps that Thermal provides, plenty of wiggle room to adjust. Reminds me I need to get back under and re-adjust mine. Had to take one muffler off to do the Steeda diff brace and I was in a rush to put it back on not lining it up perfectly...

25 ST Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power

People please get a OBD code reader like OBDlink. I keep the ZFG tune device that also reads and can reset codes in my ST for just in case I get wrenched. Used it once when i got on her and forgot to take off traction control resulting in the vehicle dropping power at WOT causing an overboost...

    Whirring noise while driving

I've been noticing many rear diff issues for these vehicles. It seems like a pretty beefy unit but looks can be deceiving I guess. Could be a design, quality, or maintenance issue. With the myriad of rear diff stabilization products on the market, I believe that points to a major design issue...

My 2020 ST started knocking 2 days ago on morning cold start.

If you aren't modding and hard launches, you should be pretty ok to drive it "spirited" , i mean that is one of the reasons you paid extra for an ST right? Just keep a half quart overfill on the oil for extra insurance.
