BIG brakes for our Explorers, this time affordable

You can “what if” it till the cows come home…but I can still drive Street Pack brakes into fade at will on the hard back road drives I do. It’s not even hard to get them to that point…2-3 back to back 120-0 stops will have you wishing you have more brakes. The Rotora kit is rock solid…no matter...

Tire tread depth & 4wheel Drive

Your service advisor is a tool. Go somewhere else from now on.

BIG brakes for our Explorers, this time affordable

Fade comes in when the parts are flat ass overheated and can’t shed the temp fast enough. Pads and rotors both play into that. A simple pad swap won’t eliminate it when driving hard.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Got the Waido side skirts installed to match the front splitter.

Lowering Springs: Lethal, Eibach, Steeda, H&R PROS and CONS

They might use a stiffer shock and strut…that hasn’t been proven yet.

    UNBROKEN’s Iconic Silver ST build

Waido side skirts are on but the lighting is atrocious right now…I’ll get better pics tomorrow. For install I had to rethink my plan because the skirts aren’t shaped like I thought they would be. I marked out and pre-drilled 1/4” holes in the skirts then added 3M VHB tape and stuck them in...

BIG brakes for our Explorers, this time affordable

I didn’t think so. I can make those things fade to nothing in 2 hard stops. I have the Rotora BBK and I can work those things over and over with zero fade.

    Battery replacement? UGH

I think people make it harder than it is because it’s something new. I can have that panel off in under a minute…it’s just not a big deal. Remove the fasteners and lift the front edge of it up until it pops off the bottom of the glass. It’s super simple.

    Found this steering wheel cover.

I did…then I replaced the carbon fiber inserts along the dash with some smooth ones I wrapped in piano black Vinyl to match the dash center. I only did that because the Aviator rear console has piano black trim and I wanted everything to tie together.

    Battery replacement? UGH

    It detaches. Guaranteed.

    Reverse lights

Hands down the best and brightest reverse lights are from Travis at Houston Speed Freaks. He’s an ST owner so he built lights specifically for the car.

    Eibach pro done!

Find a shop that can get the rear camber right then you probably won’t have to worry about the toe. -2.2 is just wrong telling me they don’t know where to adjust it from.

    4WD Fault Service Required

I guess it depends on which year Capri…because other than flared fenders my 84 was identical to my 86 Mustang. Driveline…identical. Electrical..identical. Every part literally interchangeable. When looking for very specific info on vehicles that share identical parts you can sometimes find more...

    4WD Fault Service Required

The engine and trans, which is what the OP needs info on…are identical in function.

    Broken Flex Pipe

You’ll be lucky if that’s covered. The TSB might get it passed. People gripe daily on FB about broken exhausts not being covered. Plus I’d rather fix little stuff myself rather than have Ford keep the car for weeks and have grubby tech handprints all over everything. A muffler shop could replace...

    Broken Flex Pipe

Don’t bother with the dealer…just buy the Lethal mid pipes with better flex sections and swap them out yourself.

    UNBROKEN’s Iconic Silver ST build

Waido side skirts being installed on Saturday but first I gotta leaver her at the airport for a few days.

    Brembo brakes

You need to slow down and do some reading. The SRT calipers only work with Racing Brake rotors. The GT350 rotors only work with GT350 rotors and require a mounting bracket for each side. You’ll need spacers for either one with stock wheels.

    4WD Fault Service Required

The guy that suggested that has forgotten more about this stuff than most will ever know. It would behoove you to pay attention when he makes a helpful suggestion.

    4WD Fault Service Required

I think I’m not understanding something correctly. What’s the issue with it being in 4WD? They’re always in 4WD…it just divides the percentage to each axle as needed.
