Did you find bolts to replace the rivets or did you just do without them?
I didn't use anything, it seemed tight enough after everything else was bolted down.

Interestingly enough I searched the original intercooler part and it appears it is used for the 2.3 L turbo. No way it is adequate for a 3.0 L twin turbo.

Are the Whipple intercoolers on backorder? Ordered mine a week ago last Monday (from Whoosh) and it still hasn't shipped

The stock intercooler is the same one from the Focus RS.

The stock intercooler was used as a harmonica on the last Neal Young tour.

There are shipping delay's worldwide. Be patient, Whoosh is a solid organization.

The intercooler is drop shipped directly from Whipple, not in stock at Whoosh. That said, Ron can provide you with an update if you email him.

Anyone know of a good performance shop in the DC are that would install a Whipple mega cooler for me? I got a couple quotes, both running ~$800 for installation. While it doesn't look like rocket science, I would certainly ADD out and have some parts left over if I did it myself, doh!

I had the same concerns but it worked out fine. Take your time and you'll get it done without spending a fortune.

Just ordered the Whipple mega cooler. Can anyone share pics of it installed? I'd like to see how it looks thru the grille. I ask because I see that one person here said they painted theirs before installing and I m considering this, unless there is a negative to it? Thanks!

You have to really look to see it. It doesn't stand out, especially if you keep the active shutters in. No reason to be worried if your wife will walk in front of your ST, notice it, then complain about spending money.

Where have you guys been getting your Whipple intercoolers? I ordered one from Whoosh 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped. Ron said they were waiting on brackets and would ship. Loosing faith

I just ordered 1 today from Steeda. Order confirmed and will notify when shipped. I would have ordered directly from Whipple but I think they charge for shipping (unconfirmed). We shall see...

You’ll get it…Covid and supply chain issues are affecting everything. I’ve waiting 5-6 months on backordered car parts over the last year or so.

Wouldnt painting it plug the fins, negating the cooling effect??

I’ve always felt like it has to have some effect but tons of IC’s come painted so I guess it’s negligible.
