Hi everyone,

My name is Martin, I'm from Welland, a small town in Ontario. I recently bought my White 2025 Explorer ST in November of last year. This is my first Explorer. I upgraded from a 2018 Fusion Energi - and what a difference, in the best way.

I recently took part in the SUV experience Ford hosted in Asheville, NC and got to learn a lot about the performance side of the Explorer. Really happy I attended as I've gained a new level of appreciation for the car. Recommend that if you have the chance to attend, take it!

Happy to be apart of the forum. Cheers!
Welcome to the forum.

Hi guys. My name is Nick. I'm from Seattle, born & raised. Been a BMW loyalist for the last 13+ years, but have been on the fence about switching things up over the last year. Been lurking for the past few months or so and finally picked up my 2022 ST about 3 weeks ago.

I've learned a lot thus far and excited to expand.

Eibach springs have been ordered, about to pull the trigger on 1.25" & 1.5" spacers within the week. Thinking about exhaust down the line. Excited for what's to come.

Cheers!

Hello All,
I am not new to forums, but don't spend much time on them, due to being busy with life. I also share message strings on the Mustang and Shelby forums. I purchased a 2025 Black ST in December 2024 to replace my 2018 Edge, that had too many miles on it. Thank you to all who have helped me get things done on my ST off this forum. Mods so far Lowering Springs, Exhaust, cold air intake and front window tint. Looking forward in sharing my journey as I personalize my 2025 FORD ST Explore.

Welcome Aboard!!

Looks like you are putting your signature touches on your vehicle; I've always said to buy them new and make them the exact way you want them. Did you do anything with the stock wheels?
In my past car experiences I have had (4) four Mustangs, two of which were a 2016 SHELBY GTE 5.0 and a 2017 I4 Ecoboost SHELBY GTE. Both were unique to me as BOTH were brand new before they made their way to Shelby American LVN.

If yall don't mind, I would absolutely appreciate any and all suggestions on performance mods as well as upgrades to help with longevity of the vehicle. This one, I really want to pay off and keep. Thank you in advance and I really appreciate it.

Welcome Aboard!

You came to the right place for all things EXPLORER ST!!

Make sure you review your packet of info from FORD; there is a really neat EXPLORER ST SUV Driving Experience Course awaiting you. Ford covers almost everything except getting you and your escort to either Asheville, NC or Park City, UT during your first year of ownership. My wife and I are going to the Utah Experience in a couple weeks.

I will also be going to the ST SUV experience in Utah on the 5th and 6th. Cannot wait. Hope it is more fun than I have had so far owning this SUV. I have not had the greatest luck with mine.

"Glockman": I am so sorry for you; I know about having vehicles that have maintenance/design flaws. I no long have any GM Products because of their high frequency of repair issues. Hope you can get some relief soon. One guy came into the ExplorerST group about 4-5 months ago from Southern Calif and had early on problems with his 2025. He ended up getting a settlement from Ford to buy him out after extensive issues. At one point his ST had spent something like 40 consecutive days at the dealership either awaiting parts or being worked on. California has very strict Lemon Laws that favor the consumer; I don't know about Tennessee.
While you are at the ST SUV Experience, hopefully you will be able to meet some other members who you can talk to about the vehicle's issue(s) or maybe someone from Ford Management may be there. Best Wishes!!

My name is John Blomeyer. I’m from the Columbus area in Georgia. I have a 2008 Explorer Sport Trac LTD with a 4.6liter 4x4 and a 3 month old 2025 ST. I have all ready installed a rear sway bar, pinion bushings, differential brace, subframe kit, transmission mount, cold air intake, intercooler, down pipes, 3” exhaust, strut tower brace, blackout emblems. I have 2300 miles on it and I was enjoying it to the max until I threw a P2098 code. Can’t find an exhaust leak, Guess I need to do a smoke test and if that is negative, I’ll have to take it to Ford and try to recalibrate the O2 sensors.

First of All, Welcome Aboard. Looks like you have been in the Explorer Family for awhile; I'll bet you could tell us some stories.

I am very interested in the answer to your delima; "Google" search indicates symptoms like "an illuminated or blinking check engine light, rough idle, and poor acceleration". What symptoms did you have?

Illuminated engine light, one time flashing engine light. Idle fine, faster than anything I’ve had in the recent past. CV Fab told me to remove the O2 spacers reinstall the sensors, drive it for 30 miles to obtain a rich code then reinstall the spacers ( after deleting the code) and it “should” reset the sensors and be good to go.

Owner of a new to me 23 ExSt from around the PA Capital Area. Been stalking and studying the forum for a bit now.
I’m going to start off by hitting you all with a question. My ST was a lease turn in with less than 2 years and 19,000 miles from an Quakertown Ford Dealer. It was returned to their Allentown VW dealer. They put it up for sale and ended up at a small independent dealer in Manheim with a good reputation. I had done a lot of research on here and thought I knew everything to look for. It did have an axle back exhaust with mufflers welded into it. Otherwise the car seemed grade A and had a perfect service history through the original dealer. But after getting it home, full service check and detail; I noticed this: a dreaded crack on the bushing lip. The subframe also seems to have a coating on it which could possibly conceal more. My local dealer said it was too small for Ford to warranty. But it is also a 23 with 3 bolt rear. I am immediately having a brace, bushing insert and heavy duty bolt installed. I plan to attempt to remove the coating this weekend before the work is done. I’d appreciate any input from the community. Thanks in advance

Coffee: I'm curious now, please keep us posted.
A friend had an O2 sensor issue with his new Mercedes recently; the dealer told him to drive his car for "200 to 300 miles" before he brought it back for smog test. He said the computer needs that long for it to develop/establish a new baseline for performance history. Not knowing how the Ford computer systems work, I would bet it would take your ST longer than 30 miles to get back to normal. I hope CV Fab was correct.

First off, welcome to the forum! As for your question, to me, that looks like the seam and not a crack. That part started out as a flat piece of steel and was rolled up, leaving a seam. The weld around it looks solid though. If there was a crack in the weld, that would be a concern. But I wouldn’t worry about what you’re seeing.

Thank you for the reassurance. I’m playing it safe and having the bushing insert and extra heavy duty bolt installed as well as a brace on the other side.
