Welcome Aboard!!

BrooseDaMoose is one of our more knowledgeable members; he is a great source for all things EXPLORER and especially ST's.
While I appreciate the compliment, I have to say I'm not as knowledgable as a lot of other members. I just soak up as much info as I can and ask a lot of questions. Some would say too many questions. ;)

Owner of a new to me 23 ExSt from around the PA Capital Area. Been stalking and studying the forum for a bit now.
I’m going to start off by hitting you all with a question. My ST was a lease turn in with less than 2 years and 19,000 miles from an Quakertown Ford Dealer. It was returned to their Allentown VW dealer. They put it up for sale and ended up at a small independent dealer in Manheim with a good reputation. I had done a lot of research on here and thought I knew everything to look for. It did have an axle back exhaust with mufflers welded into it. Otherwise the car seemed grade A and had a perfect service history through the original dealer. But after getting it home, full service check and detail; I noticed this: a dreaded crack on the bushing lip. The subframe also seems to have a coating on it which could possibly conceal more. My local dealer said it was too small for Ford to warranty. But it is also a 23 with 3 bolt rear. I am immediately having a brace, bushing insert and heavy duty bolt installed. I plan to attempt to remove the coating this weekend before the work is done. I’d appreciate any input from the community. Thanks in advance
