I will be upgrading the stereo system in the ST soon and am looking to get everything purchased before I start. Crutchfields website shows all of the locations but some of them they don’t show speakers for… just to be clear, this is not a competition build it’s just upgrading to better components. I show the front doors have a tweeter, mid, and mid bass. The rear doors have tweeters and mid bass. What are the rear pillar speaker sizes? Also, is the sub a 10”? Crutchfield shows it as an 8”… I was looking at Infinity or Focal units replacing all of the factory speakers. Does anyone have a diagram showing the sizes for all of the speakers? Any guidance is appreciated!

Okay, think I found my info but still have a question on the subwoofer… the diagram below is for a 2022 model but they show an 8” sub in the back but I thought it was a 10”? Can anyone confirm which it is in a 2020 model?

dash/front mid = 3.25”
Door tweeters = 1”
Front mid bass = 6x9
Rear mid bass = 6.5”
Rear pillars = 2.5” ????
Rear subwoofer = 8” ????

Let’s start at the beginning with exactly what you’re trying to accomplish. That list of speaker sizes isn’t gonna matter at all in the grand scheme of things. The d pillar for example, that hole is so shallow. I don’t think you’ll find anything to fit in there. Same with the sub, it is an 8 inch sub, but replacing it and using the OEM plastic enclosure it’s just throwing shit at the wall and hoping something sticks. What is your whole plan because I can probably save you some money and effort and get you to a better overall and result.

The sound of the system is simply okay. I can’t afford to build a system like yours but was planning on running new speakers, new wire, and a pair of amps to run everything.i have put stereo systems in pretty much every car I have owned but have never done anything competition wise. I just want a system that has decent bass, clear mids, and good highs. I was looking at the infinity Reference REF607CF speakers for the doors (front and back). For the mids in the front doors I was looking at the Retrosound R-352N’s. For the sub I was thinking the Rockford Fosgate PPS4-8. I was also planning on adding a 10” Kicker Solo-Baric 44L7S84 between the captains chairs ina sealed box.
Very interested in your take on this and what you would change. Also would appreciate guidance on amps…

For something really simple go with those door speakers if you like them and they’re in your budget. Skip the d pillars completely as well as trying to add a new 8” sub. Just add the 10 you mentioned but do a downfire enclosure between the seats. A sub needs something to load off of…downfire is a great option. Do something like this there’s no real reason to run new speaker wire aside from the sub…find the schematic and tap into the oem wiring and call it good. You’re going to need an interface…something like an LC2i since this I assume will be a passive system. That will let you run a 4 channel for the doors and mono for the sub. Just use Forscan to flatten the oem signal. Take the money you had earmarked for the d pillars and 8” sub and put that towards some basic sound treatments for the doors…they really need it.
