I have had my '21 ExST for almost a week, finally have time to look this up as I thought something was wrong. I can NOT believe that this 'brake staying on' thing is how it's supposed to work...this has got to be damn near the most asinine thing I've ever seen... wow. Please tell me this can be disabled through a tune or something???

Mine sets on a hill every time I park on a steep incline. I just hit the button once my foot is on the brake.

You sure you're not driving around with the auto-hold on?

I freaking love this feature!!!!!
I'm with you. Ever since I saw an parked Audi drift back in a parking lot and hit another car (slight incline), I thought the auto park is where it's at.

Hell, I loved the hill assist in the mustang 6spd manual at a steep incline red light.

Indifferent to the feature. I don't mind it. Lots of folks don't realize if you go from Park to Drive and just hit the gas, it automatically releases. Only time this isn't ideal is when you need to creep forward (like out of a parking space) and don't want to hit the gas.

But you get used to it and not my startup routine is to start the engine, and then immediately turn off auto start/stop and disengage parking brake.

The biggest time i hate the parking brake autoset feature is when I'm making a 3-point turn or backing into a parking space, and go too far and accidentally shift into Park for a second. Then it sets the brake and I have to release it because i'm creeping.

Other than that, nothing I've really lost slept on.
