I even uploaded the XML file back to update Ford website, but it still shows update pending.

Now need to update the maps.

Actually, in a way I did. I use the chat service on the Ford site. Let’s face it they’re all reading from a script whether you emailed them chat with them or phone call them.
For myself I feel I've had better luck talking to a real person. Same with all companies that I've dealt with. With chat I get tired of typing after an hour and wind up giving up. But that is just my opinion and experience.

I don't think we will see a new map update for some time. I've only seen one update per year so far for the map.

This is what it shows when I check with my VIN

Since mine is oct 2022 built, they might have a new map update for 2023(?)

Yup on both. You do need an update and my is the newest version as far as I know. The last map update was a pain for me. Good luck with it.

Just seen this on a different forum. It might help where Ford isn't showing your software updates.

Same BS answer I received. And I am supposed to rely the FordMyApp. What a joke

also wondering if this is true for vehicles that have hot spot capabilities

my updates with USB, went smooth.

- Sync took 20 mins (was driving all through the installation time)
- Maps took 40 mins (was driving most of time, and felt stupid to leave the 3L turbo engine running for last 15 mins for a software update)

But like most of others, its not still reflected on the ford website. (I followed everything to the T)

The last SYNC and map update uploads are real hit and miss for some reason. Would be nice if Ford figured it out.

Update over Wi-Fi didn't work for me. Kept telling me I had the latest update even though my Sync was on build 22200.

USB update worked as expected and was able to install Sync build 22251 without any issues. Also my Ford account updated my sync version automatically OTA within minutes.

Wasn't as lucky when trying to install the maps with USB. Halfway through the installation and the following error showed up. Tried a second time and still same error. Performed a master reset and will attempt again tomorrow.

I suffered doing the last map update also. After 2 or 3 tries it worked but no problem with SYNC. Good luck,

Forgot to mention my current Map Version is NA 2 21. Now I'm not sure if the complimentary update I downloaded is newer or the same as what I already have installed.

Tis the same. 2 21 is the current version.

Just completed the update via USB and was successful except it didn't place the XML file on the usb for me to upload. Contacted Ford through chat and they indicated that there is a problem with this and not to worry about it. Moving on.

My USB update was eventless and the XML file was placed on the drive, as expected. Uploading it to Ford also worked as expected.

What I don’t understand is why a system that can report the vehicle’s mileage, tire pressure, oil life, fuel level, etc. can’t also report the current Sync version.

The thing that I don't understand is that it works for some of us but doesn't for a number of others.

Just a random thought here. The Ford website would not recognize any VINs for 2022 models for the map update until about November 2022. Is there maybe a similar issue with the Sync update? Is there any correlation between model years and whether the Sync confirmation works?

That is possible. From what I seen scrolling back a bit all were 2022 models that are having the issue.
