Gibson exhaust

I have it, and I like it. I will do my best to get a sound clip from the phone. I mine daily, and although I wanted the thermal option, I found it to be too loud. One thing that I find strange is that at wide open throttle (WOT), it sounds like a jet engine or a leaf blower. I guess that's just the sound of the V6 turbo. The startup is nice, and the idle is cool.
As for cabin noise at highway speeds, it's slightly louder than factory—just a bit. When going up a steep hill, you do get more noise, but I enjoy it. The only downside is that my wife dislikes the modifications I've made to my Explorer. Another issue is that you need to cut your exhaust pipes at the right spot to get them to line up correctly. If you're off by just a bit, it can mess up the angle at the back. It's better to cut less than more.

Yes, you need to cut right where the curve straightens out. I measured three times to ensure accuracy, but I still ended up butchering the cut at an angle with the sawzall. Eventually, I got everything matched up; I just needed about half an inch more on one side. The best part, at least in my opinion, is that for the upcoming cross-country drive, I can put the factory mufflers back on with the band clamps. I have a feeling that when towing a trailer, the sound will reverberate back at the Explorer, making it quite enjoyable for a long drive.

I got the exhaust installed and it didn’t take very long at all. Was a bit hesitant about making the cuts but I believe I did it in the right spot.
I did notice that slipping these mufflers over the factory exhaust tubing was quite difficult like it didn’t fit. Eventually I got them both on but I feel like the driver side tips stick out slightly more the the passenger side tips. I tried using a rubber mallet to tap the muffler on further but not sure if it was enough.
Did anyone else have that issue?
