After reading all the posts on the forum regarding warranty issues and the trouble some of us are having with our STs, I thought it would be helpful to track who has needed to a buyback from Ford.

There are four choices, and you can change your response as necessary. For instance, we are meeting with our dealer tomorrow to formally start the buyback process, so I will change my response from I’m in the process of requesting, to buyback is requested, etc.

Sorry to hear you're going through a buy back. Are you going to get another ST?

I've had no issues with mine.

I’m almost certain we will get another ST. The dealer said we may be able to do a dealer transfer to get the exact same color and options as ours, but I’m leaning toward ordering a brand new one.

I'm only at 3k miles but somehow have a feeling I'll be changing my answer at some point.

Are we all really driving a ticking time bomb?
I wouldn't go so far as to use that analogy, as our problems began within the first week of owning it. I get the sense that those of us that have issues with our STs had the issue from the get go, and they did not develop several weeks or months down the road.

I agree with Bluehalo. Mine is a very late December 2019 build that has 1300 miles and one months use on it. So far the only issues I've had were there from day one and are minor enough that I'll wait until the first service to address them. I'm hoping my luck continues, because I really love this thing.

Well, Ford Customer Service never called back last week like they said they would.

Guess I’ll have to call them again tomorrow.

Do you know what build date they actually fixed the issues that everyone is having? I read an article dated in November that says Ford has "fixed" their issues. I just bought mine on Friday at it has a build date of 12/19. Do you think I'm safe from all of these issues?

No mwilson, expect a dooming collapse of the tranny and wheels in a week... j/k

In all seriousness, I wouldn't worry about any issues as most people here are having NO issues with theirs.

I just found my build date today and it said 01/20

OMG. My heart sank when I read that. I'm seriously freaking out after reading the issues people are having. I knew they had some production issues but no idea it was this bad. I figured with a build date of 12/19 I'd be safe. I also do realize that when something goes wrong, a person will tell 1000 people. When something goes right, they'll tell 1! So I'm hoping the bad experiences I'm reading about that are few and far between because people just want to vent.

We spent $54,000 for a vehicle that has been in the shop for six weeks out of the nine weeks we have owned it. I don’t think I have been venting on here, but I could be mistaken. This is not a situation I have been faced with before and had been quite frustrating and time consuming - and I am about to make the second payment on a vehicle that we have not had in our possession since February 15th, when it went back to the dealer’s for the third time.

So far 20% of the people on this forum that have taken my poll are having their vehicles bought back by Ford. That’s a pretty high number in my opinion, however, it could be that people are drawn to the forum to find answers for the problems that they have been having.

When the vehicle worked it was awesome. Power, performance, room for the whole family, and decent gas mileage. I am hopeful that our replacement vehicle will be as trouble free as the majority of the owners on here have said theres are.

Maybe venting was the wrong word. But that's exactly what I'm terrified of...my brand new vehicle will break down and be in the shop for weeks or months and then it'll be an uphill battle to have any issues resolved. I hope your replacement is flawless! Do you happen to know the build date of the one that's having all of the issues? I'm hoping that with a 12/19 build date, they've worked out the majority of the kinks

Our build date was 10/19. I too hope our replacement will be flawless!

We found the exact same color as ours, and with the same options as ours, at another local dealer. No idea on the build date yet, but we’re just waiting on Ford to call me back to resolve this.

I don't know what the "safe" build date is. However, from everything I've seen the problems start immediately or not at all. Good luck.
