The tabs don’t come off. Here are some pics of the regulator I broke.

regulator from the front. The two pieces of white tape need to be peeled back to access the window tabs for release.

Here is a closeup of the tab you need to GENTLY push in to release from the window.

here is the backside of the regulator

here is a view of the tab you push to release the glass. Push too hard or too far and you will snap the brittle plastic on the arms.

After you reinstall the regulator, you just lower the glass back down and it will click back into the tabs.
Ok so quick question. Is the window at the half way mark when you line it up with the holes. If so then do I just push in both tabs gently then pull up on the glass to release it? the link is only for a new panel install from what I can tell. Thank you in advance.

Yes the window is around halfway. the tabs spring back once you stop pushing in on them, so you have to do 1 at a time. The first one you have to pull the window up on that side to keep it from dropping back into locked position, then release the 2nd one and raise the window. Then tape the window so it doesn’t fall down.
