    2022 Ford Explorer Platinum ST

Seems like some people's idea of "fun" is not most people's idea of fun. Lol

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

True. But if the recall is not performed, does that give them an excuse to void the warranty on other issues? As I expected, the recall flash does not effect engine output.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

This is big news! No wonder FORD's data (and even our own poll here) show virtually zero breaks.

93 Octane Gas and Top Tier

Mods: Maybe you could take the non "93 Octane Gas and Top Tier" posts and move them to another thread? Things seemed to have gotten a little off track here. Lol

NEW Product Alert! The AWR Racing rear diff mount

Given the opportunity, it is always the smart move to have your vehicle 100% stock when bringing it in for any kind of service.

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

I know that we can run polls 'till the cows come home. But it just occurred to me, of those who experienced sheared bolts how many were with 20" vs. 21" wheels/tires? It seems that more rotational mass + better traction = more stress. Right?

Steeda Vid: 0-60 mph test, Stock vs. Whipple Stage 1 Kit

That's exactly what I thought. The .42 sec improvement between the stock 0-60 mph run vs. the IC/Tune was somewhat underwhelming. Let's call the Whipple tune "the one bolt rear tune". Lol

What is missing on the 2022 ST from factory

Yes, wheel hop puts stress on chassis members. But we also have AWD to help mitigate that strain, so hopefully ...

    Rear end damage

Being the first SUV I've ever owned, I can also say that the ST is a joy to drive.

What is missing on the 2022 ST from factory

Yup, it was the same thing in my area on loaded ST's.

    Did I damage my transmission?

Thank God the fire did minimal damage and everyone is okay. Fires double in size every minute and sometimes kitchen fires can get away and do a lot more damage. Regarding the trans, are you saying that if you're in Sport mode and you don't lift your foot it will never upshift? Like when its in...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Sorry this happened to you. In 2010 I purchased the highly sought after new Camaro, one week later I hit a pice of rubber on the highway leaving a sizeable black scuff on the side of the white car. In 2017 I bought a new Fusion Sport 325 hp AWD (also white), two weeks later a deer hit me and I...

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

I hear 'ya, same here with an 01/22 build! We can at least be somewhat comforted in the knowledge that FORD's official reported rate of bolt shears is 0.1%.

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

Sure seems that way. FORD took a gamble with the one bolt rear, hoping that it would be okay. They were close (0.1% of effected vehicles reporting breaks) but no cigar.
