Converting crossmember from 1 bolt to 2

I can't tell you how many times my "confidence" has gotten me into trouble. haha And my limitations were reached after watching my blood pressure rise from watching your crossmember change thread!

Anyone get frustrated with people thinking you are a cop?

It seems I can't go for a calm evening ride without someone aggressively hanging on my tail! So far, a nasty sounding Stang, two Mercedes coupes, a BMW and a couple of other cars. Nobody ever did that when I had my Stinger GT, I figure it's because no one wanted to tell people they got beat by a...

Anyone get frustrated with people thinking you are a cop?

"Anyone get frustrated with people thinking you are a cop?" Heck no! I've had more people try to race me in the ST in two months of ownership than I did in 3 years of owning a Stinger GT.

Converting crossmember from 1 bolt to 2

I've also been taking stuff apart since I was a kid. Started with a toy robot that walked and the chest opened up and machine guns came out! Problem is, I never did get it back together ... That's why when I started racing Fox body Stangs I knew to stick to shocks, brakes, shifters, intake...

who has the scoop on the '23 model?

I sincerely doubt it. Besides, there's also no competition for the ST to make them want to upgrade. For price/performance/ergonomics, the ST is literally in a class by itself. Nothing else even comes close.

who has the scoop on the '23 model?

Or two bolt?!? If only 1/10 of a percent broke with 3 bolts, maybe they'll drop another one to save a few more bucks.;)

Converting crossmember from 1 bolt to 2

By your detailed account of the swap, I bet more people are being convinced not to do it ...

Converting crossmember from 1 bolt to 2

After seeing the amount of work involved, this project is a big NOPE for me! But I give Cruising68 huge props for doing it.(y) My only comment comes from this pic he posted ...

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

I HAVE CLOSED THE POLL After 6 weeks the results are indisputable: bolt shears are incredibly rare. This Poll conforms to FORD's own published data that the number of breaks is measured in tenths of one percent, minuscule. Thank you for your participation.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

The poll doesn't have to say anything about being in the recall. It matters none. 137 respondents is what we have and comparing it to the number of forum members who might not even own ST's is irrelevant. People are participating in the poll to whom the poll is directed. Like any study with...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Not if a only small fraction of forum members actually own the vehicles involved in the recall. It's abundantly clear that the number of bolt shears is infinitesimally small, as supported by FORD's own data. This poll is overestimating the number of breaks by a factor of 8 (.729 Poll data vs...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

And 136 that reported no problems! Even if there's 3 other members who claim to have broken a bolt, my bet is they didn't respond to the poll because they were modded/tuned/raced/who knows what. See my reply above as to the likely reason why others who alleged a bolt failure did not respond.

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

1-135 Maybe we should just call the risk of shearing a bolt virtually zero and close the poll.

The new 2023 Mustang get you some of that !

I don't know how young people can afford new performance vehicles today, they're wacko expensive. In 1995 a new Mustang Cobra coupe was $25k, in today's $$ that's $48k. Just enough to just buy a loaded regular Mustang GT. And a dealer near me is asking $65k for a new Mach 1, $5k over sticker. Lol

    WTB Scam Alert

The only time I ever got involved in a forum's classifieds is when the other person was close enough for a meet up.
