Sorry to hi-jack thread, I'm looking to replace the original battery on my 2020 very soon. How does one reset the BMS?

    Error Messages

Get it scanned for codes for free at AutoZone or a local parts store that offers it. OR you can buy a OB2II dongle on Amazon and download an app on your phone to do it. This will help narrow down what errors are being reported.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I bought my 2020 used with low miles. Original owner never took care of any of the TSBs or recalls. Bought it summer of 2023. I have been dealing with this whistling sound ever since lol... Thanks for posting, I will have to try this!

    Interior Rattle / Clicking Noise

This is what was causing this sound in my wife's ST. It started after she was rear-ended and all parts used were Ford parts. I wanted to avoid having to drive back out to the body shop, crawled under and tapped on the rear bumper on the driver side, and found the heatshield was making a noise. I...

    What is this doodad?

Something broke and with dumb luck, might not be cheap either. Check if all the features for your seat work. Searching that PN, the only thing that matches it, is something for the lumbar support. If everything works and you're still curious, it might be best to just remove the seat and flip it...

    Transmission woes

I picked up the car today. They did a bunch of testing, reseating, tracing, checking connectors, and re-installing the OSS, and after 75 miles of them driving it (I approved an extended test drive), no codes. Hopefully, this is the end of this saga!

Oil leaking from somewhere but not engine

FADA (front axle disconnect actuator) leak. Covered under the powertrain warranty. They replaced the seal on mine (2020) not long ago at 28k miles. They noticed when I got an oil change and suggested I bring it back. A couple of weeks went by and one morning I spotted some oil on the ground...

    Transmission woes

Received an update from the SA yesterday evening. The tech strongly believes it is a connection issue somewhere. They have been inspecting/testing the wiring and plugs and reseating anything that is related to the code(s). I asked the SA if he can get me the codes that the vehicle was reporting...

    Transmission woes

I dropped off the car this morning, and now to play the waiting game. The good news (bad news), on the way there, the transmission was getting stuck in certain gears again and the wrench light was coming on and off way more than before. I got lucky and caught all green lights on the last 5...

    Transmission woes

yeah, giving them another shot. Besides this, they have been really good to me, even their sales dept. Today I was driving it and the transmission started acting up again. While it was going 30-40mph, I put it into manual mode and shifted gears, but, rpm’s never changed or felt the gears...

    Transmission woes

So I picked up the car today. As I was driving home, the wrench light turned on for a minute and back off. This time I got a notification from FordPass app. I turned around and headed back to the dealer. SA checked and said maybe the systems are still calibrating. Car drove fine, he said to give...

    Transmission woes

Got an update from the dealer. They diagnosed it as a bad output shaft sensor. They ordered the part and I should have the car back early next week.

    Transmission woes

I did read that wrench can be caused by throttle body. What is weird was the shifting seemed very odd on the highway. Like it didn’t know what gear to be in. Unless the TB can also cause that behavior. I waited three hours for the tow. I drove it back and forth in the parking lot while waiting...

    Transmission woes

Well, she took us from IL to NJ and back last week and today she barely made it home from work. My ST with 30k miles threw a wrench on the dash for a brief second and then it went away during my lunch break. As I’m driving home, I go to pass some cars and the car is not moving. I was able to...

    Leaking oil?

Called the dealer for an update, since they checked it yesterday. They ordered the parts (not exactly sure what all parts), but, confirmed it is this issue. 2020 with 27K. Hopefully get to pick it up tomorrow after work. Covered under the powertrain warranty.

    Leaking oil?

these ever leak enough to leave stains on the driveway? Moved my ST yesterday and there were small spots of oil around where the oil pan would be. I didn’t have time to crawl under there yesterday, since I’m leaving out of town soon. I just dropped it off at the dealer for them to check it on...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Took my (2020 ST) to the dealer for an oil change/tire rotation and for the backup camera recall. We'll see how this latest fix works, my backup camera worked 60% of the time. Then the SA told me I have oil seepage from the engine, he wasn't very specific and I was in a rush to get back to the...

PSA for those with Aftermarket Exhaust

Curious, what are the long term effects if water continues to buildup? Besides the obvious of possibly rusting/corroding?
