    Oil change using vacuum pump

You can extract completely cold if you choose. The idea of changing warm is just to get the oil circulating so any debris is suspended when you extract. You probably dont want the oil too hot or it may warp the extractors hose.

This thread is why owner's manual's exist. Follow it and you'll be fine. It was created by the professional engineers at Ford who designed the engine.

    Oil change using vacuum pump

I wouldn't worry about any small residue left over in the pan. Even standard oil changes don't remove all the oil and residue scattered throughout the engine. That's why we have oil filters. That said, I also allow my oil to warm up a little and circulate before changing.

Explore ST 2025 model and center screen not loading profile

I had a couple different issues arise with the infotainment system during the first month I had the vehicle. It would forget settings and profiles. The problems all went away on their own and I assume it was the initial system updates they were pushing out. The symptoms would occur after the...

    Find My Key Fob

Did you shove your hand far down in between the seat cushion and seat back? That's the obvious place. I've had mine end up down in there and there is plenty of space for it to hide.

    Oil change using vacuum pump

I prefer the extraction method. But there are some cons. You mentioned you have 5 car's. The extractor will only benefit the vehicles that have a top mounted oil filter like our Explorers. Otherwise, you'll be under the vehicle anyways to change the oil filter. Also, there is a one time cost to...

    2025 Oil Capacity

I have the latest vehicle update installed on the 25 which backs that up. And I'm responding to the OP's original question,

    2025 Oil Capacity

Yeah we're probably splitting hairs. But at the end of the day, you can either follow your owner's manual, or what someone tells you on the internet.

2025 Explorer ST "Must Have Mods"

Here's one for the 2025 builds who got shafted on their console trays. Fitment is excellent and the color compliments the red stitching on our leather seats and dash. Ford Explorer Center Console Organizer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KGXHRRT

    2025 Oil Capacity

Maybe you should send your data logs to Ford then, because apparently their hard use testing didn't catch it.

    2025 Oil Capacity

Actually, if you listen carefully, he mentions that overfilling by "a quart or two" can blow your seals.

    2025 Oil Capacity

The 2025 owner's manual can be accessed through the infotainment system, which is pretty neat. Lot's of good info in there. It lists oil capacity at 6.0 quarts

No thanks. Overfilling and launching my car is not the best thing for drivetrain longevity. :p

    2025 Oil Capacity

Yeah, I don't trust dealerships. You never know what cheap oil they're using, or if they even bothered to change your filter. I change my own, and I always keep extra oil ready. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, nothing but the best. And with our twin turbo setup, we should be checking our oil levels...

    2025 Oil Capacity

Never add "X" amount quarts and let it rip. You could be underfilling or overfilling. BOTH are bad. An overfilled pan will rob power and put more strain on the motor. And underfilled will yield low pressure. I'm sure you all know this, but the proper way to fill the oil is to add it until it...

Wheels/Tires, Am I good to go?

Before I spend a significant amount on this setup, I figured I should ask around. As far as clearance or rubbing, I should be good right? Wheels are 20x10.50 with 30mm offset. And I'm going with 295/45/20 Pilot Sport 4's. Also, has anybody had an issues with the Niche brand?
