    Looking for fuel mileage advice...

The hotter air is less dense- therefore it actually uses less fuel to compensate. It's always trying to be at a stoichiometric ratio. Forget trying to make better gas mileage. If you're worried about gas mileage, stay away from sport mode which doesn't disengage clutches and lock-up converter...

    Looking for fuel mileage advice...

There isn't anything you can do to greatly impact your fuel mileage. If you're just trying to save money, opt for the 89 octane fuel, make sure your air filter is clean, stay in ECO mode, and keep your foot out of it. As far as the predicted miles to empty, that's just based on the estimated...

They saw you coming....cancel that immediately.

    new guy here

I'm impressed (and feeling a bit smug) with those numbers on stock exhaust (other than downpipes). I saw in another thread you've got a thermal catback on the way. I'd love to see another dragy run without any tuning (just with new exhaust) so one could have a basic idea how much the new...

    Steering/Front End Popping Noise

I'm going to assume you're moving, right? Any vibration coming through the steering wheel coincident with the noise? If so, I'd agree most likely CV joints.

Garage space enough? Need local help

I employ the old guard method. A tennis ball suspended by a cord from the ceiling. When it touches the windshield, you're in!

Growing up on a dairy farm...I can only say Holstein. But, to each his own!

    new guy here

Big thumbs up on those wheels. Don't think I've seen any like those on the ST before. Those Dragy runs are on stock turbos?

    Thoughts on a front Spoiler/Splitter??

I hate to single you out, but take a look at your post: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/brake-caliper-covers.3187/post-39596 But, you're definitely interested in a dress up "gift" for your car. Some people maybe like a meaningless caliper cover and according to you, they shouldn't be in...

    Valve stem caps

Those things are so big I thought they were the rims! They're so big, you'll have to rebalance the wheels! I mean, why do you have doorknobs mounted on your wheels? They're so big the shadow of them blots out the sun! I'm trying to be funny here- no one would even notice

Has anyone done PPF on their windshield?

You should absolutely do this- then drive for about 5000 miles- then post again and let us know how it worked.

    Selling SHO, buying ST.

With no other mods, and 93 gas, and assuming you want as much bang for the buck as possible, you add a ZFG Racing custom tune. Results? At least one member here had dyno tested results of 100 hp over the stock dyno on 93 with no other modifications.

    Removed features from 2022

I'll second that, mine was built in 1/20, I bought it 3/1 of 20 and after 18 months, I have not had a single issue so far. Knock on wood!

There is a member here who has one on order (sorry, can't remember) Hopefully we'll see some real numbers soon.

    aFe Exhaust

I'm not so sure I'd jump to the conclusion that the product is bad, just that the dyno results are suspect. One thing that I would expect to see on a completely stock turbo vehicle that is equipped with a higher flowing exhaust despite anything else would be a quicker spool up demonstrating...

    aFe Exhaust

You have a dyno taken in late June as a baseline, then one taken in November. It looks like a nicely designed exhaust, but that's hardly a back-to-back comparison. There's also (according to the chart) different SAE correction factors being applied. Do we even know that it was the same...

    BLACK LUG NUT UPGRADE

I have always liked and used the McGards. Not only do you get a bit of security, but you only have to use one special lug on each wheel. A minor thing I admit, but one that makes it a bit easier than Gorilla's version where all of the lugs are coded.

Mishimoto's Explorer ST Catch Can R&D Thread

I hope someone can answer a question for me- As you're driving down the road, I can see that one is using vacuum in the intake (partially closed throttle plates) to create a low pressure area to evacuate the crankcase. However, once the turbos spool up that low pressure source is now...

    Loss of Power

Posting in multiple threads isn't going to help you. The turbos are controlled by the ECU, so either you have a problem that the ECU sees as reason to limit boost and yet is not important enough to trigger a CEL, (intermittent sensor out-of-range, or protective- like trying to accelerate with a...

    Rear end damage

Call your local Mercedes (or other high-end) dealership and ask who does their work. They almost never have their own body shops and will farm the work out to the best place in town.
