    Towing Mileage

Just curious why you didn't use Tow mode? I'm with @GearHead_1 on this. Gas mileage isn't about the lowest RPM, it's about BSFC which varies under load/RPM. I'd use Tow mode which would allow the programming that's built in to predict what youre doing so it can reduce the load on the engine...

No, no I don't. But you do you!

    2021 ST BOV

First, before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, if you want a blow-off valve because you like the sound, go for it. But if you look at my posts, it has gnawed at me that people are not only adding BOVs, but also talking about "less lag in operation" and "better driveability". Now let's...

    Smoking on startup after sitting

IF it is the seal, once it warms up everything tightens up and it's not noticeable. There have been at least three turbine seal problems I'm aware of and all of them had the same symptoms you describe. Starting it cold at the dealership is a good start. Advise them of the possibility that if...

    Smoking on startup after sitting

It's only coming from the left side from what I see. An intelligent guess would be a turbine seal on the driver's side. Take the video to your service writer and also involve the owner if possible. Show them the evidence. A good tech would make this diagnosis. And no, it wouldn't throw any...

    Cup Holder ambient lights

As if we don't have enough foolish things that people get worked up about, now a couple of people want to play "my year is better than yours"? Good grief. As far as "that is fact", give me a break. Even if you had some actual (not anecdotal evidence), the very fact that '20s have been around...

    Cup Holder ambient lights

Second that- two years on and not a single problem. A forum is always a bit skewed as out of thousands of satisfied owners, when someone runs into a problem and is looking for a solution they find a forum to look for answers. Just take a look at how many forum members who post a problem have...

    Tailgate hatch several issues

I have also had the "half open" problem on two occasions. No reason why that I'm aware of, unless there's some type of sensor that is trying to limit damage?

    Chip tune

Anything that starts out promising 20% fuel economy gains is pure snake oil. Don't enrich these scammers by purchasing their crap. Here's an alternative: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/jk-performance-products.2906/post-35778

    Anyone running auto octane zfg?

It's definitely a Bosch unit. The 3.0tt is a speed density unit (I've even seen the patents), which means it's unlikely to be the same as a MAF based unit. From what I can ascertain, the flex fuel Fords use direct injection AND port injection, so the ST ecu is likely limited to the Nano (2.7...

    Anyone running auto octane zfg?

Fair enough! That setup does include wiring harness sensors as well as the ability for the ECU to use it. GM must be using the same basic ECU for many of those cars even though they don't have the flex sensors from the factory. Interesting.

    Anyone running auto octane zfg?

Ok, so you're saying there are unused wiring harness wires to the ECU from the flex sensor? And those flex fuel sensors include a wiring harness for that purpose? I did a google search and didn't find anything like that, but if you'd point me in the right direction, I'd be happy to see it.

    Anyone running auto octane zfg?

I'm not singling you out, so please don't be defensive. I try to educate people, so for the handful of folks that will actually read this post, think about what I'm about to tell you. Your tuner tells you he'll give you an "auto-tune". Then he provides a flex-fuel sensor with a cool app that...

    Anyone running auto octane zfg?

So your tuner did a dyno on 91 which showed 700 whp and then one afterwards that showed 800 whp on e-85? I'm going to let this slide because you're new to this site and maybe your tuner engaged in the same hyperbole as I posted earlier in the thread.

    Anyone running auto octane zfg?

800 on e-85 and 700 on 91? Color me skeptical. Very skeptical.

    Anyone running auto octane zfg?

You're right. Just ask yourself this: If it were a true "auto tune", wouldn't that mean if you filled the tank with an e50 mix you'd be making 500 whp- just like a dedicated e50 tune? I'm not picking on any vendors, all have to compete in a small marketplace and a bit of hyperbole is to be...

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

While it's not directly related to an ST, my cousin works for GM in Lansing, MI. Due to the chip shortages they are shipping vehicles that aren't completely finished (he says thousands) off to large parking areas (including auto auction sites) while waiting for various parts to arrive. They...

    FS Vossen CV10 22x10.5 +32

Lol, too heavy to lift. Got it! As I remember the last Vossens on this site the owner also refused to weigh them. I believe it took him 9 months to sell them with tires and sensors for $1800 including shipping. GLWTS

I have family there and am planning a trip. Throw one on the scale with or without the tire and tell me what it weighs.
