Thinking about buying a 2020 ST

I'd give you three thumbs up if I could! That is absolutely, completely true. Not even mentioning parking assist, massaging seats, adaptable cruise, lane keeping, 13 second 1/4 miles (stock). Braking from 70 on par with Z06 vettes and Bugatti Chiron? Nothing in its class for the money.

    Hi!

lol. Need another post or two.

    Drive Mode differences

It doesn't on the ST. That's generic explorer literature.

Shutter while accelerating in a turn 4WD

Just to follow up- for those interested. Once traction control has been introduced on a vehicle, the manufacturer has to make it a conscious decision to turn it off. You see there are a certain group of people who are litigious- it's just too expensive to have class action lawsuits because...

Shutter while accelerating in a turn 4WD

Even holding it for 5 seconds doesn't turn it completely off. But it does change the sensitivity level significantly. But I'm glad that you at least have an answer.

Thinking about buying a 2020 ST

This is what happens when you log onto a forum and ask for info! There're always people who have problems with their vehicle who are quick to vent even though they mean the best. Believe it or not, most people who own an ST are happy and have had minimal issues. If you're looking for a 3-row...

Thinking about buying a 2020 ST

I'm only a statistic of one, but I have a 2020 with a Feb '20 build date and have not had any of the "common" problems. Have never seen a blue screen, a cracked converter (although that's probably a possibility). I've never had problems shifting. I believe the 7-6 downshift was due to a snap...

    SLD 2022 Explorer Platinum ST

I regularly log into Bring-a-Trailer. (bat.com) They are an online auction site. One thing I've found particularly interesting is that tastefully modded vehicles sometimes bring in a lot more money than one would expect. There is definitely a market for modified vehicles done correctly. On...

Shutter while accelerating in a turn 4WD

I take it you're thinking of some type of "shudder"- in the drivetrain? That is the traction control system. It's not perfect, as it's trying to gauge the difference in wheel speed, the acceleration, and the turning angle. You can try turning it off (you can't turn it completely off) and see...

The "Space GhoST" has lost its powers....

It's certainly true about temperature affecting battery life. I spent 10 years in Scottsdale and Tucson and I don't think I ever had a battery last more than a couple of years.

TSB 22-2485 - 2020-2022 Explorer + Other Models - Wireless Accessory Charger Inoperative/Poor Performance With Magsafe Charging iPhones

There's definitely blame to go around. But there are a lot of issues- you can't just blame Ford. One of the problems is that the warranty work doesn't pay as well. It's unfortunate, but dealers have to make money too. In my area, appointments are always 2-3 weeks out. And to be fair, Ford...

    SLD 2022 Explorer Platinum ST

You have the same problem that everyone has that modifies a vehicle. Getting your money back out! What everyone should remember is that your mods might not be the mods someone else would make. You really only have two choices- continue on with your build- have it be well known and then maybe...

The "Space GhoST" has lost its powers....

Keep in mind it's not just "amps", it's amp hours that matters. It takes time to charge a battery and it also matters how quickly and efficient the battery is at taking the charge. If the majority of your driving consists of short commutes (like mine), that battery is just not going to last as...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

Despite what you might think, this is a site that tries to help people. So here's my suggestion. You can get a CARB certified solution for tuning. Check out this link. https://www.steeda.com/whipple-explorer-st-stage-1-package

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

It's not about you, or your resume. I'm just posting that putting someone's business at risk is not something to which I will agree. Like I said earlier, if ZFG will give you a tune, that's his business, not mine, and I'll STFU. As far as "over reacting"- I get it, but you choose to live in a...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

Y'all are pretty cavalier about putting someone's business at risk. There is a reason ZFG and other tuners don't do business in Cali. Flame me if you want, but the real answer is that no one is going to put their business on the line for a couple hundred bucks in a state where it's not...

It's not you who would be in jeopardy.

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

Nice of all of you to go out of your way to help this guy buy a tune that could jeopardize @ZFGracing's business. He lost me at the $10 extra shipping fee. How do you know he's not someone with CARB?

JB4 on top of FP tune

To be honest, based on the Dragy times I've seen, the FP tune is under-rated. I would guess it's about 60-70 hp increase. Please don't play around with piggy-backs just because "Ford can't tell I did it". It's not only dishonest, I'm telling you that the potential problems just aren't worth...
