    ZFG Racing Tune Review

Just loaded the initial tune and did a short 5-8 miles drive. Initial impression is the transmission needs to settle in...badly.

I submitted my factory tune Monday, currently waiting for their tune to log.

With the Thermal exhaust you do not need to lower it. Just loosen the heat shields, don't remove them and work around them. After the first drive get back under and remove the extra grease that spread out from the bushings.

Shops typically don't let it drain long enough as time is money in that building.

Ours come with 6.5, that is what I measured coming out of the factory fill. With a filter change 6.5 back in gets it to between the hash and the dot after 10 minutes of wait after running.

I'll add, IMO, it is important to try and mitigate risk with supporting mods when tuning with items like a larger intercooler, colder plugs and even an oil with a higher HTHS viscosity.

Transmission fluid change required for tune?

I think its a must have even on a bone stock vehicle.

Depends how to treat it and how often you use the additional power. Typically plugs, engine/tranny/diff mounts/bushings will wear faster for example. Install supporting mods (Intercooler, colder plugs, diff brace) and limit launching the vehicle and you can expect a good life out of it. IMO...

Two hours first time with care meaning taking the time to re-strap the harness after necessary zip tie removal for example, might shed 30 minutes next go around. For a plug job not the funnest because of the amount of stuff in the way.

How about the shift schedule and over all tranny behavior besides shift firmness?

Ya I like the AFE in terms of the color and the mounting hardware looked good. For the strut tower bar I'll likely go aFe because the mounting points do not use a spacer but a properly formed bracket on both bolts.

I just ordered the aFe CONTROL rear bar. I look forward to installing it as I won't mind a bit less roll and a bit more turn in.
