What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Did an oil change to Amsoil Signature 5w30 and an Amsoil filter. Also installed the UPR oil drain plug. My factory drain plug was loose, not tightened to the detents. I saw lots of video's of people having to use a small screwdriver to get their factory plug over the detent... mine never made...

    Buy a late 2020 new?

And remember the 2020 was what, 3000 or 3500 more MSRP than the 2021. I tried to make a deal on a leftover 2020. The deal looked great until I factored in the MSRP difference from a 20 to a 21. It only ended up being like a 1500 dollar difference. Which I figured would make up the difference...

Issues with Palm Beach Dyno HP Tuner RTD

Not to let PBD off the hook for customer support, but have you been over to the HP Tuners forum? Might be worth 10 minutes to go over there and join up and throw a post up because to me this looks like an HP Tuners issue and not necessarily something PBD has caused... So MAYBE somebody on the...

    Carbonized Grey touchup paint source

Been trying to get www.paintscratch.com to update the 2021 Explorer grey to the Carbonized. They had the 2020 Magnetic Metallic listed as appropriate for 2021. They finally emailed me that they got it corrected and they can now mix the correct paint. MUCH better paints than what the dealer...

    Slotted and drilled rotors?

98% of slotted and ESPECIALLY drilled rotors are junk and will crack. 99% of slotted and drilled rotors is appearance. The purpose of both is not so much cooling but gas relief, which with what we are doing isnt a problem. Ive actually gone THE OTHER WAY on a few vehicles that come from the...

POLICE INTERCEPTOR RIMS - 2021 ST

Nobody is using them for daily wheels I dont think. Most people buy them as a "cheap" option to throw winter tires on... which you being in FL and me being in TX, we have zero need for winter tires...

    Oil change schedule

Sorry im not spending $25 bucks to get a report of oil I will never use again filled with crap from the break in process. I have never sent factory fill oil in before. NOW if you want to spend the $25 for my factory oil sample at Blackstone, ill be glad to send it in. I got a few kits in my...

    Oil change schedule

That's only part of it. But at almost 80 bucks an oil change with Amsoil if I can go at extra 3-5k miles safely I'll take it. The bigger part is long term trend monitoring though.

    Oil change schedule

I will. It will be a year or so I guess. I'm not going to send the factory fill as it won't be a good indicator of my real oil choice.

    Oil change schedule

Y'all should run oil analysis. $20 or whatever from blackstone. I think you'll be shocked at the results and how long you can run oil for. I basically don't run anything less than 10k miles anymore. My old man had an 07 dodge ram 2500 cummins and he ran an Amsoil bypass filter setup on it...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Washed it and debadged the Explorer letters(my wife liked them, I like it without) and the ST badges front and rear. Thinking ill get a black ST badge for the front because of the grill being molded for it.

    Steeda Lowering Springs Install

Your Explorer is at the Ford dealership right? Just let them replace them. Guarantee they have them on the shelf. Might cost more than what you can buy them for online, but whatever. Oh I see you are in Germany... maybe they dont have them then, but I would assume they can source them

    Steeda Lowering Springs Install

It has nothing to do with mileage on the bolts... They are TTY(torque to yield) i.e. they stretch when they are torqued(the torque spec is usually something like xx ft. lbs then xxx degrees). They are "officially" a 1 time use bolt. I can see a Ford dealership not wanting to re-use them and in...

    Choice in Oil Filters

I'm an admitted Amsoil fanboy and dealer so I will be using them. For an on the shelf, paper element oil filter I generally recommend Wix if Amsoil doesnt have a filter. Wix is the OEM for a bunch of manufacturers. For a long time Amsoil(Baldwin/Hastings is their manufacturer) was one of the...

    Installed Livernois Tune

Its not conjecture. There is more than enough evidence across A LOT of different platforms that custom tunes make more power than canned tunes. A tune that has to work on 100% of the vehicles everywhere is going to be way more toned down than a custom tune so that it doesnt cause issues that...

    Installed Livernois Tune

Not necessarily. I believe ZFG has you send log files and then he updates them into a more custom tune for your vehicle. I do not believe Livernois does this, at least not as an "included" feature of using their services. They may do it for more cost. So ZFG is a more custom tune vs...
