The "Space GhoST" has lost its powers....

Surprisingly, I just got a call from the dealer saying they replaced the battery and they ordered a new catalytic converter for the recall. Seems like all is good news, for now

The "Space GhoST" has lost its powers....

I took my ST in to the dealer yesterday with 35,200 miles on it because for the last week or two the vehicle goes into deep sleep mode, within a few hours, every time I turn it off. I told the service advisor that it was going into deep sleep mode and the response I get is "what the hell is deep...

How-to: Front climate control swap(add 20-21 temp display to 22+)

I would assume that it will not work with the FORScan programming. If you have never messed with FORScan before, it seems daunting, but I promise, it's REALLY easy to use. Here is a good tutorial, and there are some links to some how-to videos on there as well...

    Glare free

Well I think I just wasted $21 on a 3 day PTS subscription. In PTS it specifically spells out glare free for the F-150's but it does not for the explorer or for my MKZ. That doesn't mean it's not possible, but I think it is highly unlikely to have the glare free programming all ready there...

    Glare free

Hmm, then it could be possible with the platinum trim headlamps. The "glare free" technology is almost a decade old at this point, so it's possible the programming is there for it EDIT: it appears the Platinums are the only trim with an HCM. Time to dig deeper

    Glare free

After a quick search, it appears none of the Explorers have adaptive headlamps. Looking at as-builts for an Explorer KR, neither it or the ST has an HCM, which is the module used to control adaptive lighting. I'm fairly certain the headlamps are the same for both the ST and KR

    Glare free

Wait, so the ST doesn't have the top trim headlamps? As much as these things cost I thought these were the top level headlamps

    Glare free

I think you're correct, but I had to ask. It's a pretty damn cool feature

    Glare free

Does anyone know if these vehicles are able to have Glare Free lighting activated? I have activated it on my F-150, and I read something on PTS that made me believe that the explorer MIGHT have glare free lighting. Can anyone from Canada, or anywhere else chime in? Canadian F-150's came with...

How-to: Front climate control swap(add 20-21 temp display to 22+)

Yea I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the part number on the labels is for the back half of the module (the body without the knobs and buttons or some permutation of that)

How-to: Front climate control swap(add 20-21 temp display to 22+)

I think some of those part numbers are for specific sub assemblies, and the labels just don't get taken off when they're assembled. I believe you most likely got the correct part number, is just isn't labeled. Don't get me started on wiring harnesses and part numbers...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I know in the 21+ F-150 FORScan CAN turn off ASS. Is the same not possible in the Explorer?

How-to: Front climate control swap(add 20-21 temp display to 22+)

@randyknight is correct. The first character of the part number actually correlates to the MY of the vehicle produced. For example, with the F-150's an ML3Z vs and NL3Z vs a PL3Z prefix is a 21 (M) vs a 22 (N) vs a 23 (P). This character also happens to be the 10th character of the VIN. The 10th...

    Massage seats?

I bought my ST in Aug 2020 and I can probably count on one hand the number of times either seat massage has been used. I always felt it was very gimmicky. But that's just one man's opinion

How-to: Front climate control swap(add 20-21 temp display to 22+)

I don't think if affects anything more than one module at a time, but I have also never used the feature. I believe you have to write the changes into one module before moving onto the next

How-to: Front climate control swap(add 20-21 temp display to 22+)

I am not a pro when it comes to any of this stuff, so my understanding could be incorrect. But the way I understand it is this: The modules are already programmed, and the HVAC module knows its an HVAC module, but the HVAC module doesn't know how to operate based on the options each vehicle...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Seth Rogan went off about this a year or two ago. Someone complained about LA being a shit hole due to their car being broken into, and Seth came in saying something stupid about how that person should just leave your car unlocked, it's not a big deal. Just don't leave anything valuable in it.

Aren't you worried about any of those getting crushed? I know you said you're gonna build grilles, but damn that's a lot of hard work and money for something to potentially get stepped on. Regardless, you're obviously very talented

How-to: Front climate control swap(add 20-21 temp display to 22+)

There are no changes made in FORScan, but the as-builts in a new HVAC module will not match up with factory as builts in pretty much every single case. If the correct as builts are not loaded into the new module, odds are it will not work correctly or at all. "as-builts" aren't programs, the...
