    ZFG 91 Octane tune

Not that this forum needs another praise for Adam/ZFG...I was able to get out this weekend between snow storms and enjoy the ST with my 91 octane tune from ZFG. Performed my first data log and sent that in yesterday. Just the baseline tune is a huge difference from stock. The one-two and...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Wrote my first ZFG tune today (91 octane). Unfortunately I won’t be able to get her out and data log today. Maybe tomorrow down in the city. 13” of fresh snow.

    Ebay splash guard review

How have the splash guards held up? I live on a long, steep mountain road that is not paved and my plastics are taking a beating. Thinking about buying these.

Focal, Mosconi, Illusion and Helix build

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Over the last three days I completed my amp/sub install, installed my new color-matched rear emblem, removed the "EXPLORER" emblem off the front and installed my Mishimoto catch can. I'm now sitting on my couch, patiently waiting for my ZFG RTD delivery, which should be here any moment. I'm...

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

Alright, man. Got the LOC and AMP wired yesterday and this sub absolutely slams. I can't wait for it to break in. The sensitivity on the LOC and the amp is turned way down and I removed most of the bass out of the factory "EQ". I'm disappointed with the tuning. I'll have to mess with it some...

Focal, Mosconi, Illusion and Helix build

I did not see you mention where your remote turn on comes from for your amps. Would mind telling me? I'm hoping to pull from the factory amp but I'm not sure which wire it is.

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

UNBROKEN's build is very high end and bad ass. 5 Star Car Stereo has a decent video with good tips and technique on a new explorer. The explorer they're working on doesn't have the B&O system but it gives plenty of insight into the process.

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

Thanks! I'll be sure to share. I've installed complete audio systems in every vehicle I've ever owned. I'm no audiophile but I am a semi-professional musician and enjoyer of all types of music. I think I have a decent grasp on what quality audio is but people's personal tastes vary greatly.

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

Sub install and cover complete. Need it to not be 6° and snowing so I can complete the LOC and amp install.

Mishimoto's Explorer ST Catch Can R&D Thread

    Received mine yesterday! Thank you.

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

I will likely go that route in the long run. Thanks for posting all your build details, man. It's been very helpful!

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

There's a lot of room behind that panel, for sure. This JL 13TW5 only needs .8 cuft and I'm right at that including the sub displacement.

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

Spare is still there, if it wasn't obvious. Need to make ANOTHER trip to Lowes before I can mount the sub. I grabbed 1/4-20 machine screws and t-nuts but those are just slightly too big. Box is birch ply. Storm is rolling in and I live way up in the mountains so I probably won't make any more...

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

Started the box build. External dimensions are 5”x36”x15”. Fits pretty damn good. I plan on somehow cutting a circle in the factory false floor/rear deck but leaving the carpet which should allow the sub to sit nearly flush with the floor/rear deck. I may decide to something different very...

JL Audio Stealth box inquiry response

I've already bought a JL 13TW5 and have started building a very low-profile box that will be integrated into the storage area under the rear deck panel. Spare tire will be in tact. I can't wait for the stealth box. As much time as I spend in my vehicle everyday, the B&O system is unacceptable.

JL Audio Stealth box inquiry response

I sent JL and email about plans/progress on a stealth box. In case anyone has been wondering about the same thing, here's the response from Eric Cole at JL Audio: "Hello, I have not official word yet, but the explorer is popular, so I imagine R&D will want to develop something for it. Please...

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

Awesome, thanks for the reply! So the LC2i just takes the signal from the speaker wires going to the sub and converts them to RCA output? I've already bought most of the sound deadening materials. My doors rattle a ton, even at lower volume levels. Good deal on that amp. I will probably take...

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

I've been following UNBROKEN's post and there is so much great info there. I'm not a competitor for SPL competitions and I don't have 20k to dump into this. I spent 16k on a chassis for my 57' Chevy stepside, I have two teenage daughters in club sports (one getting ready to drive), and my house...
