I’ve seen several threads/posts on other forums about STs missing parts.
There are 3 items that most STs were delivered without.
A strut insulation cover under the hood, a rear wind deflector, and the front tow bolt.

Just curious how many here are also missing these parts.

Damn, just notice that I don’t have either of those.

I don't have the tow hook... going to check for the other two now.

I do not have the other two either.

Also missing whatever goes here. Any help on what goes here would be helpful. See photo.
That is where the towing eye EM2Z-17A954-A goes. The other side you should have the fuel filling funnel.

Not all come with the towing eye. Pop the front cover where it installs - if there is not a spot to thread it in, that’s your answer. The parts department at my selling dealership printed out the HVBoM for me, which also indicated “Less towing hooks”, both front and rear. The owners manual states that they are included based on regional requirements, or something to that effect.

Interesting.
What region are you in?

South of Detroit by a couple hours. Interestingly, my previous '14 Explorer Sport (built for the same region) had a towing eye unlike this one. Not sure of the justification, but not worried about it in this case.

  1. My front cover won't come loose upon trying the method in the manual.
  2. There is no insulator on my driver's shock tower. I assume that is for sound deadening and not for heat.
  3. No rear wind deflector on my rear bumper.

And I am missing the driver's seat belt trim piece, no extra charge by the dealer, thank you very much.

Build date 13Nov2019

Mine is missing the rear deflector. Guess I need to call my dealer.

Does anyone have the PN for the wind deflector and hardware?

I just visited my nearby dealer. I went to parts department with my VIN to get the p/n's for my missing pieces. The guy was skilled at finding everything EXCEPT the wind deflector. Then I went out to the lot to look at 4 Explorers. None of them had the rear wind deflector. They were not recent builds.

Tow loop EM2Z-17A954-A
Insulator driver's side shock tower L1MZ-3C078-A

Deflector PN is L1MZ-7811778-A
There’s some associated hardware also.

Still confused about the wind deflector. I will ask the parts guy again, since I now have the p/n.
That Tasca link shows this, which doesn't include ST:

Are these SUPPOSED to be included on a ST model? If I call my local Ford Dealership, will that be provided at no cost?

I don’t think they are...but my selling dealer has them ordered for me anyway.

Let us know if you notice a difference in performance once it's installed. Mine is missing it as well but don't want to go through the hassle if it's not going to make a noticeable difference.
