If you're racing, or otherwise doing severe driving, lots of WOT or near WOT, or you just ran a 1/4 mile, don't shut your engine off right after doing a run. The heat still in the turbo will cause the residual oil in the turbo to varnish and carbonize over time and you'll have lubrication issues.
That's it. Normal driving, or even "spirited" driving, turbos still spinning, etc., have nothing to do with it.
