Took to dealership for this issue and they didn't fix the situation with the voice prompt volume.(maybe too new)
I fiddled around with the system for awhile and got the voice prompt volume to work again. All I did was turn on Apple car play(voice prompts were not working on apple maps either). Then I disconnected apple car play and the voice prompts started working again in Google maps. I hope this helps.

Yeah, mine worked temporarily after clearing cache and storage doesn’t. It’s back to low volume. Thinking about trying factory reset.

FWIW - Google Maps Volume Control Problem - I have tried all suggested solutions - they all work for a day then goes back to "low volume." My net searches indicate this is a widespread problem. I went through a OTA the day before yesterday and it started working. However, the next morning - low volume.

Well, some good news. After the last "low volume" I decided I wasn't going to try fixes any longer - going to wait for Google Maps to fix their problem - it happened. The morning after the low volume - it went back to normal. I didn't do anything. Today is the second day in a row it is working just fine. So, maybe - just maybe Google fixed the problem.

That would be nice if it is fixed. I used mine yesterday and it started out fine and by the second instruction it was back to low volume.

I haven’t had a chance to try mine yet. I’m really hoping mine works too!

UPDATE: Just realized I have been getting OTA Updates (4 within a few days). One thing I noticed - after a OTA the volume problem goes away BUT comes back a day later. Maybe, this was causing my volume to work one day and not the next?
  1. ABS-25.AR (04/14/2026) - Brake Pedal Alert
  2. BCM-25.6.0 (04/13/2026) - Remote Commands
  3. TCU-25.2.8.5 (04/11/2026) Update 11 - Connectivity
  4. PHX-25.1.2.5.5 (04/09/2026) - Center Touch Screen
So, that may be the reason Google Maps Volume Control problem seems fixed. I will have to wait for a few days with no further OTA updates Will report back in a few days.

It will be interesting to see what happens when you stop getting updates. I wonder if the updates do some sort of reset that make it a temporary fix. Can’t really find technical information on the process.
