New member and ST owner here. Just purchased a 2023 for the wife. Looking forward to learning all about this badass ride from the experienced members here. Been a Mustang guy for the last 14 years with my 2008 Bullitt. Always have liked the Explorer ST's though.
Welcome Aboard!!

I think you will find there are numerous members here who are either current or former MUSTANG owners. We like performance!!!

Hello Everyone,

I am Charlie from the Eastern Panhandle of WV. Right now I am running my ram 2500 back and 4th to commute. I work relief at my job so I am at a different workplace every shift. I am looking at a 2022 ST for commuting and running around to stop running the big truck. I was going to start a thread to see if there is anything I should watch out for looking at used ST's. It has been a pleasure reading the threads on upgrades and such. I appreciate any advice you all can give me.

Thanks
What part of the Eastern Panhandle? I grew up in the Charles Town and Harpers Ferry area. Most of my family is in that area still!

Just purchased a 2026 ST in Metallic Red to match my Ruby Red SHO. It's a replacement for my wife's 2015 Audi Q-7 that someone decided to side swipe when it was parked in front of my house. Insurance decided to total it out. She and I both are happy with it and still trying to learn all its functions.

As you can see, I love my red 2025 also.

How would you compare your SHO performance wise to your new ST?

I strongly believe FORD would have sold more SHO vehicles had FORD not gotten stupid with their "Up pricing" Policy. That same policy helped kill of the "Baby Bird" 2002 to 2005 Thunderbirds also.

Absolutely love the SHO. 3.5 twin turbo, almost 400 HP, all-wheel drive enabling. 200k plus on her. Only thing close to it is the Audi S4, in size, comfort and power. My daily. She weighs less than the ST. Still getting a feel for ST. Impressed with the power for as big as it is. Way more nannies though. Hate the auto stop feature, glad you can disable it, hate you have to do it every time you start it.

Yes, Ford messed up not continuing that platform. Some variety is still available overseas.

@Bronco2Fan : I had a '97 Taurus LX Sedan that was my daily and always wished it was an SHO. Kept it till over 220K miles before the dead A/C and the engine oil leak made it cost prohibitive to get repaired. It is hard to survive our 110 degree Summer days here in the Sacramento Valley.
As for your ST, I agree on the Auto Stop/Start. You did not comment on your exhaust system, or lack there of. I have NO idea why any self respecting engineer would ever develop a totally FAKE engine sound and pipe it into the speakers of a performance vehicle. Even worse, there is NO known method of reversing the process to dismember that program without jeopardizing the other systems in your ST.
