Hey everyone!

Just joined the ST family and couldn’t be more excited! I’m now the proud owner of a 2025 Ford ST, and I’m already loving the ride, the roar, and the community vibes. This is my second Ford (2021 F150 2.7 Lowered) and I’m here to learn, share, and maybe even tinker a bit.

I’ve always had a soft spot for performance and style, and the ST checks all the boxes. Looking forward to swapping stories, getting advice, and maybe even joining a few meetups down the line.

Catch you in the threads!

I hope I'm not interfering, and old car enthusiast well versed in the ST among others. We're at the point of purchasing but can wait for the right one. Because we're in the Job 3 phase of the Explorer, a couple of features are missing from the ST. But, the ST looks so good and I love the seats/steering wheel and most of all, how it drives. I'm here to find out if I should get a Plat with the features I want and mod it to ST performance (plus things I would do to the ST). ...and geek out on all the stuff you are doing here! cropped.png

Hello and welcome to Explorer ST Forum, the premier community for Explorer ST owners from around the world. Please take a moment and post your introduction and let us know a little bit about yourselves.
Hi all,
New owner of a '22 ST 401A. I've had a love affair with Fords since '11 when I bought the first run of the Coyote (Pony Danza). Since then I've had an F150, a '19 BULLITT (Pony Danza II) and now the ST (I needed more room). I'm pretty familiar with TC AWD applications, but it's been awhile ('02 WRX bugeye, '06 Mazdaspeed6). Mishimoto CC already installed, and a ProFlow IC is literally in-progress (Betty's in the garage with the bumper and headlights off). Anyhow, I just wanted to say hello and can't wait to learn more from tenured owners.

Hi All,

Picking up my new carbonized gray 4WD on Tuesday after I return from vacation. Dealing with the dealer all the time and knowing a couple of people there allows me to do everything remotely—I just show up to sign. I'm trading in a 2019 Edge ST in Star White. I love the white, and I had a similar gray on the F-150, so I decided to go with gray this time. Both colors handle swirl marks well, but gray shows a little less dirt. Where I park for work can be a slight issue at times. Anyway, I've had my eye on the big boy ST for a while, and I'm glad it's finally here.

Standard options with 400A, 21-inch wheels, and Blue Cruise. They're adding the keypad trim piece at the dealer tomorrow; unlike Ford's new opinion, I actually use that. The Edge was Livernois tuned, which made a big difference. I'll consider tuning after about 10k miles (I would like the FP tune, which I had on my Mustang GT), and possibly an exhaust. Not sure how I feel about these EcoBoosts with an exhaust. Other than that, it'll get tint ASAP and be driven spiritedly.

My name’s Keawe, I’m 23, and I’m new to the forum.

I’m driving a 2021 Ford Explorer ST now, but I used to own a ’96 Explorer 5.0. I’ve always loved the get-up-and-go of the EcoBoost 3.0, and after putting a lot of time and work into my old Explorer, I figured it was time to upgrade

I actually wanted to join the forum back when I had my ’96, but never got around to it—so here I am now! I’m hoping to learn from you all since most of my experience is with older cars, and all this newer tech is definitely a learning curve.

Right now my only mod is a Turbosmart BOV, but suspension upgrades are on my list soon. I’ll drop a pic here so you can see my baby!

Hi Everyone,

Just moved from a 2017 Focus ST (Kona Blue) to a 2022 Explorer ST Grey). It’s my concession to old age haha! I bought the Focus back when I was younger and a bit more limber.

Loved that car. It was a total blast…plus there’s hardly anything you can afford anymore that lets you row the gears on more of a budget. It just started to get too hard getting in and out of those Recaro seats.

My boxes for a new car were: motor, moonroof and good sound. So far I love the new car. It’s ticked all the boxes. Plenty of motor to keep things fun!! My only beef is I have to have it in sport or tow mode to have my full size tach on the dash. Not sure what Ford was thinking there. I just have to get used to driving that thing in parking lots as opposed to my old Focus. Haha! It’s nice to still be in the ST family!

I'm purchasing a 2020 Ford Explorer ST in less that 24 hours. I test drove it today, and I was blown away! I've driven a 2002 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 for 15 years now, and it's time to "treat myself." I pictured both my Escape (which is for sale now) & what will be my new 2020 Ford Explorer ST. It's only had 1 owner, no accidents, but it does a some mileage that concerns me a little bit: 90k miles. But, when I took it out for the test drive, I was surprised how clean and crisp everything looked, how the buttons have no wear, no leather cracking, and the exterior was almost flawless (just a few rock pings on the hood). No accidents reported on it either. My 1st upgrade will be to take off those black wheels (I guess I'm "old school" when it comes to wheels bc I prefer chrome or polished wheels). I'll be replacing those with some 22"x9.5" Asanti Black Label ABL38 Monarch wheels all the way around it & I want them to fit hella flush with outermost spot of the fenders. I want the wheels to have that 1.5" to 3" lip around the outer rim, so if anyone has any recommendations for some 22's that fit that description, plz send me some pics or just hit me back.
Thank you all!

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post in this forum. I recently ordered a 2026 Ford Explorer ST in Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. I am sure most people will think I am weird, but I ordered my ST in 2WD on purpose, even though I am in northern Illinois. My first purchase will be the best winter tires I can buy. I am considering lowering it roughly 1.5 inches, but I want to get a feel for how the stock suspension feels before I decide. I do not have any plans for significant upgrades, but I have heard that just a tune could make a significant difference. I just want something that is fun to drive with a lot of cargo room.

I am really excided about attending the Explorer ST Driving Experience to see what these Explorer STs are really capable of.

Welcome Aboard!!

This is great that you have bought exactly what you want or need for our particular application. The best thing is you are getting a vehicle that nobody else has driven/abused/changed. It is all you, for you!!

As for the Ford Performance ST SUV Driving School, the one in Utah (and I think also in North Carolina) are to teach you the proper way to handle/drive these vehicles. The "Washing Machine" exercise (simulated driving on a wet surface) was almost identical to the one I participated in at the California Highway Patrol Academy years ago.
