Hello,
been a while since I’ve been on the site.
interesting situation. My wife’s car is a 2020 ST with the Trac PAC. Only 24,000 miles.
Driving from Northern VA to Nags Head NC, it started shaking in the gearshift / console area. Similar to a “limp mode”. Pulled intp a McD’s parking lot. Left it running and every warning light in the world came up. Checked underneath, nothing unusual. Looked under the hood, same thing. Turned the car off for a few minutes. Started back up, engine fine but wouldn’t go into drive, neutral, reverse etc.
Sunday evening so had it towed to a local Ford dealer. They have finally diagnosed it as a “Parking Pull Rod” in the tranny. Said they have to pull the tranny and basically rebuild it. $6000 and 2weeks. They told me there is a recall coming out from Ford for this exact issue. Recall coming out in the next few weeks to a month. This would help to cover the repair cost.
Anyone else heard about this recall?
Any info would be much appreciated
thanks

Sorry to hear that. I haven't heard anything official yet about a recall for the parking pawl/pull rod, but if the dealer is saying one is coming, I'd definitely ask them to put that in writing or at least note it on the repair order. If it were me, I'd hold off on paying the full repair bill until Ford confirms whether your VIN will be covered. Hopefully someone else here has heard the same thing or has more info.

Yeah, I spoke to Ford Customer Service direct.
they provided me an email detailing what to submit but that is after the repair and me paying the full amount. They did seem to think we will receive some relief before the date of 2nd quarter 2027 when the remedy will be available! Geez, almost a year after the recall notice? It’s ridiculous but I’m going to stay on them.
