Cam Phaser Noises

When is cam phaser noise an issue? I don't remember having any on my last (2020) ST, but since I took delivery of my current 2026 which was brand new, once it's warmed up, if it's still warm and I start it back up, it will have a very brief (1-2 second?) rattle under the hood. There's nothing touching, wobbling, etc. and my only thought is the cam phasers. Is this normal? Or is it something that will only get worse with time. When I had an initial concern, the dealer said they didn't hear what I was hearing. The last time, they said it sounded like "probably" an exhaust leak, which was just an excuse, because I had just installed my AWE and Downpipes, and we all know how great those slip joints seal. I just don't want to throw on a tune if this is going to be a huge worry down the road, but I know it's often a topic of discussion so thought I'd throw it out here.

A brief 1–2 second rattle on a warm restart isn't uncommon on these. If it goes away right away and you're not getting any codes or drivability issues, I probably wouldn't be too concerned. If the noise starts lasting longer, happens on every cold start, or you notice performance issues or a check engine light, then I'd definitely have it looked at. I'd keep an eye on it, especially before adding a tune, but based on what you described it doesn't sound like a major red flag yet.
