I prefer the slick top look of the Interceptors. Has anyone removed the roof rack from their ST? I’m curious if Ford offers a molding to go in place of the rails.

From the previous gen, the removing is done from the top, you pop off the covers that run along the roof rails and access the screws from the top. You'll need to fill in the holes and then get the trim covers that's found on the Explorers that comes without the roof rails.

We have a local dealer that has a white one for sale that they painted the roof black.

Personally, I really like it, but my wife said no deal.
Eh....I could go either way with that. I guess it depends on the color.

If we had a white ST I’d think about it. Wouldn’t look good in blue.

I spoke to a local emergency vehicle up fitter today. He’s pretty sure he can order the Interceptor molding from Ford. I’ll post pics if it gets done.

Part numbers please, but I'm going searching now. I'll never use those rails.

Found a Youtube vid that helps with the removal, here's one but I will get factory full length trim covers.

Some places say w/pano roof, some say no but it’s the same PN for all of it. I have the pano roof and have the parts on order. They were supposed to come off backorder today but I haven’t heard anything. All I can do is wait and post an update when I try one.

I saw that too - some say with some without sunroof.
did you order the molding and the retainers?

Right molding - LB5Z-7850462-AA
Right retainer - LB5Z-7802500-AB
Left molding - LB5Z-7850463-AA
Left retainer - LB5Z-7802501-AB

Guess I’ll take the plunge with you - just hit the order button.
I just got a little more confident. 2021 ST’s will have the roof rails as an option...that tells me the delete parts will work with or without the sunroof. I highly doubt Ford would retool a part just for that.

This is what the dealership is saying just for the rails. Do you also need all of the ancillary hardware too ? Or does the fitment for hardware match ??

Also I feel like I've seen these Parts for less online for $200-something... Any help/feedback/parts Hook-Up would be appreciated!
