Remote features disabled to preserve battery

Just got my third warning in two weeks. Funny, no warning until my android Ford Pass application was updated. Anyway - I drive my ride everyday - just took it out for a hour drive (without lights, air conditioning, etc.) to see what that does. I have an appoint for Thursday to have it checked out.

Any suggestions on what could be wrong? My ride is 1 year old with just under 12K.

Charge it fully and then try resetting the Battery Minder. Stranger things have happened, new car, bad battery.

Usually, it’s the battery—but that’s way too early for one to fail. Have a parts store do a quick test just to be sure. If it’s not the battery, it might be warranty time. I’m assuming it’s still covered under 12k miles, right? Those AGMs are great, but they seem to die early or last forever—no in-between!

To reset the battery monitor on any Ford product:



1. Make sure all windows & doors are closed.
2. Turn ignition switch to on (don't start car). Wait 10 seconds.
3. Flash highbeams 5 times using the "flash to pass" stalk on the side of the steering wheel (on/off, on/off, on/off, on/off, on/off).
4. Press brake pedal 3 times in 10 seconds.
5. The battery light on instrument cluster will flash indicating the BMS has been reset.

Taking it back for an oil change (Thursday) and a battery check. Will let you know how it goes.

Unfortunately, it hasn't reached 12K BUT it was a year old September 9th. Taking it back for an oil change (Thursday) and a battery check. Will let you know how it goes.
