I installed the PPE deep transmission pan and in the process installed a new ford trans filter and refilled with new Ford ATF. I also added the extra 2qts for the deep pan.

The transmission shifts great but the downshifts are really rough, and they don’t sound/feel healthy to me. I’m running a ZFG DMS tune. Do you folks have any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

Have you checked the level? I had no issue doing the same except I double checked hot the level via dipstick.

Check your fluid level again.
