Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from anyone experienced with Ford electronics. I’m currently rebuilding a flood-damaged car and have already sourced most of the "new" (used) replacement modules. However, I’ve hit a roadblock with the APIM module .
My original, water-damaged module has the following part number:

Thanks in advance for the help!
I’m looking for some advice from anyone experienced with Ford electronics. I’m currently rebuilding a flood-damaged car and have already sourced most of the "new" (used) replacement modules. However, I’ve hit a roadblock with the APIM module .
My original, water-damaged module has the following part number:
RB5T-14H522-CAH
Since I live in Poland, I’ve been searching for replacements on eBay US. I managed to find exactly one module with the identical number, but it is way more expensive than the other options available. On the other hand, I’ve come across several modules that match the main part of the number but have different endings, such as CAN or CAC, and they are priced much more reasonably. My questions are:
- Can I replace my module with one that has a different suffix (like CAN or CAC)? Do the last three letters just indicate a hardware revision or software version that is backward/forward compatible?
- Does the part number need to be an absolute 1:1 match for the system to work correctly, or is it worth paying that extra money for the exact same number?
Thanks in advance for the help!
