Coolant
So my dealer states that they have to drain the coolant system in order to change the plugs. I've never heard of this, you merely just need to unbolt the coolant line bracket and move the lines out of the way.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Coolant lines do not need to be disconnected. Grab a tech and ask them directly if they disconnect the lines. Then you can talk to the service writer and have a fun conversation.

I respectfully disagree. Most people have never done the job and 30 minutes is not a number you want to lead people to believe.
You wanna drop by with a stopwatch? After doing it several times that’s all it takes.

And I clearly said “I” can do it that fast…and faster than someone could strip the whole cowl off. That was the point.

I get it. Just saying, some people will be in for a shock at 30 mins lol, and thats all they will read. Hell most projects I take 30 mins getting all my tools and shit where I want them.

You missed my point. You have mentioned it being a 30 minute job a couple times now. This leads people to believe this. I understand after having done the job prior you could race through it but I would question that, if care is taken.

Gapping or checking gaps, re-greasing coil packs, blowing out debris in the work areas, figuring out the extension/swivel puzzle, figuring out what is in the way and getting hands fished into the tight spaces all take time.

After 130K+ miles and multiple plug swaps…I’d say plenty of care is taken. I have one of the most modified ST’s that exist…all done by my own hands. No questioning is needed.
