I phone connect to sync media fails most of the time Bluetooth

Anyone have issues with connecting iPhone media via Bluetooth more often than not when I start up the vehicle the phone will connect but for media I need to go to Bluetoot, source, iPhone connect media, audio the select source
is there something that should be changed in the phone or in the sync? Software was just updated at the dealership.
