Not sure if this has been addressed. The pre-collision has never gone off once in the year that I have had my vehicle and there have been times that it should have. In any case, my question is, has anyone noticed on their 2025 Explorer ST if there is a symbol/alert that shows up on the dashboard during startup, which indicates it is active? I ask this because all of my previous Ford vehicles with pre-collision had the red bar in the top of the dash that flashed onto the windshield that alerted on start-up.

Pre-collision Assist on 2025 Explorer St

I've had the same questions with my 2025 ST. I had a 2020 Edge ST before this one and it would go off at least once every time I drove it. After having it for a year when it was time for oil change, I wanted them to check it out. Of course, all they did was check for any errors when they didn't find any course in their mind everything was ok. I'm sure they must have other checks that could be done to insure everything is correct, however two days later it did work and has worked twice and even worked in reverse, when it actually stopped the car. I have always had the settings for the most sensitivity.

My issue is a little broader than realized. There are things under the 360 Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 package that have not and do not work on my 2025 Explorer ST and I have everything on and on high.
1 Pre-collision assist with automatic braking does not work.
2. Intersection Assist does not work.
3. Evasive Steering does not work.
4. Post collision braking does not work.
5. Reverse Brake Assist does not work.
I have had my vehicle 1yr 7mo and there have been many times that any one of the above should have come into action. I've had it into the dealer several time, but no "error codes", so nothing they can do. Disappointing as a Ford owner for many, many years.

what makes you think they aren’t working?
These things don’t activate unless the car thinks you are going to hit something and aren’t going to intervene yourself, if you are using the brake yourself at all the car will assume you have control and know what you are doing so the feature shouldn’t come on if your just driving aggressively.
if you did the ST experience and the blow up car exercise that you drive into to test the auto braking they’ll tell you that if you don’t go full send into it and start hitting the brake your self then you’ll probably end up hitting the inflatable car since AEB wont activate
These things don’t activate unless the car thinks you are going to hit something and aren’t going to intervene yourself, if you are using the brake yourself at all the car will assume you have control and know what you are doing so the feature shouldn’t come on if your just driving aggressively.

In all of the Fords that I have owned the “Pre-collision“ senses and alerts visually and audibly. I do not drive aggressively. I have had some extremely close calls and nothing happens, no visual, no audible, no braking, nothing, Recently after picking my vehicle up from the dealer for these issues (no error codes), on the highway, I was forced almost into a wall due to a driver not paying attention and swerving into my lane in front of me 12” off my bumper. I had no time to brake, I had to maneuver away to avoid a collision. Backing up in a parking lot and a car zooms past, no braking or signal, etc. I can list many more times where it should have at the very least alerted me. Could the 3 radar sensors be the issue???
I own a 2020 and in that year, you can turn the pre-collision feature off in the settings. When it is on, I personally think it's a little premature in some instances.
If I am in reverse, I get a cross traffic alert, audibly and visually, if an intersecting vehicle is approaching. If backing up, the braking assist will definitely activate when you get
into the steady beep zone. In fact, it slams on the brakes so hard, it makes you think you've hit what's behind you.
If you aren't getting any of these functions and they are activated in the settings, then you may have a problem. I wouldn't think it's the sensors because that I believe
would show up in the codes.
The control modules in these STs are finicky to say the least. There are so many features engineered into them that it confuses itself.
My Sync 3 can't even handle streaming music from a flash drive or my phone. In fact, I don't even know why it has playback controls because
it does whatever the flock it wants to, regardless of my choices.
These STs drive and perform nicely and they look good. I have a hard time checking any of the other boxes.
