I have a 2022 with just over 30k on the clock. I've had this issue with HVAC since buying the car with 9k miles.
When operating the car cold, everything works the way it should. In the summer months I usually just drive with the temperature set to the coldest (but NOT air conditioning). If I run the car to operating temperature, turn the car off for 30 minutes, and hop back in to drive away, it blows hot air. Moving the temperature mixture up or down does not change the temperature. The only way I can get it out of it's funk, is to turn the air conditioning on for a second, then turn it back off. Then it starts blowing "cool" air from outside. After doing this, you can move the temperature mixture up or down, and the temperature that blows out is accurate.
After doing some research, it sounds like I may have a bad blend door actuator. Since I have dual climate, you'd think that only the passenger or driver side would be acting up. However both sides blow hot air.
Another fun HVAC issue that I'll mention in case it connects some dots:
The air conditioning randomly kicks on. I'll be driving to work in the summer with the windows down and no air conditioning. It will randomly start blowing cool air. Perhaps this is normal, and it is trying to combat any kind of humidity that is in the car.
Curious if any of you have had this/these issues and what the culprit ended up being.
