These STs have had a long history of having a clunk sound at low speed or when shifting from Park to Drive or Reverse. Ford replaced our read half axles and it corrected it for about a year, but its back now. Its the one thing that makes me hesitate buying a 2026 right now. I'm so tired of hearing it.

You asked if this was normal, and I shared that many have experienced this over the last 7yrs since these things came out and that its related to the rear axles. I agree with 2020Raptor above it has to do with friction noise, and my dealer replaced the axles thinking that would be a permanent fix and it wasn't. Sounds like you like your own answers better.
