I have read the oil capacity was increased for the 2025 model year to 6.5qt. My dealer is telling me based on my build date of 4.30.25, the capacity is listed at 6qt.

Can anyone confirm this?

It should be 6.5 quarts, just have them put 6.5 no matter what build date you have, you can and should anyway.

Ford does specify 6 Qts. but a lot of folks here will tell you 6.5 Qts. Our vehicles are know to drop oil pressure when accelerating quickly.

Another question, related. What repair would you request from said dumb ass dealership for this?

That’s a really hard spot to get to for dent repair. Hard to say, just demand they to fix it and have professional repair it.

Never add "X" amount quarts and let it rip. You could be underfilling or overfilling. BOTH are bad. An overfilled pan will rob power and put more strain on the motor. And underfilled will yield low pressure.

I'm sure you all know this, but the proper way to fill the oil is to add it until it reaches the correct level on your dip stick. Ford simply states for our vehicle it will be approximately 6qts. When the engine is cold, the oil should read halfway up the measuring area on the stick.

If you aren't measuring the oil level, you are doing it wrong.

Lol, this ain't my first rodeo. Actually, it's my first time trying to entrust a dealer for maintenance.

Dipstick checked out ok. Just trying to figure out how little I trust the dealership or not.

Thanks

Yeah, I don't trust dealerships. You never know what cheap oil they're using, or if they even bothered to change your filter.

I change my own, and I always keep extra oil ready. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, nothing but the best.

And with our twin turbo setup, we should be checking our oil levels periodically between oil changes. Adding oil whenever it gets low on the measuring area. Forced induction motors tend to eat oil.

Top of the hash mark then an extra 1/2 quart is where you want to be if you’re launching the car.

No thanks. Overfilling and launching my car is not the best thing for drivetrain longevity. :p

The 2025 owner's manual can be accessed through the infotainment system, which is pretty neat. Lot's of good info in there.

It lists oil capacity at 6.0 quarts

I just crossed 115K…I’d say longevity is just fine. NOT filling it to that level on a launch will have oil pressure dropping dangerously low…now THAT is not the best thing for longevity.
