I wouldn’t trust the oem bypass valve but adding just a vta adapter is doing just that. You’d still be relying on it staying closed under boost.

Removed the Waido side skirts today. After looking at the car and old pics I think I like it better without them. It just looks cleaner to me.

I don’t see any reason to reinvent the wheel on a screen that size. The Aviator screen is well sorted out now and the landscape 10” screen fits the dash size really well. These bigger screens just look cartoonish and out of place.

If you think that was a smartass comment I can’t help ya. That was a factual comment about what will happen if you try to piece a bunch of shit together. We’ve seen this movie before…many times. I gave you solid advice…what you do with it is up to you.

For what you want, and can actually live with, just cut your losses…stop trying to piece together stuff that’s very likely to sound like crap and will 100% drone horrible on the highway and just get the 3” Thermal kit and be happy.

The original thread is from 2021…I assume he meant the interior X brace. I read a while back it interferes with the seat mounting somehow so I never looked into it further. Post number 2 is asking about rear shocks.

I think the only thing that gets you a bigger camera view is the Aviator screen and even then it’s only marginally larger.

Different products. MLV is a noise barrier for primarily lower frequencies. Thinsulate is a decoupler like CCF and also combats some higher frequencies. For MLV to truly work you need 100% coverage with no gaps and all the laps sealed closed. I played with some to try to block some exhaust...

They are effectively trash. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find someone close wanting to return to stock to sell it to but people aren’t really buying stock exhausts. They fall apart so often people just go aftermarket when their junk breaks.

Pull off the center trim…it just snaps on then pop the fake CF pieces off. It all snaps together. I think I had to pop off the outer vents…which also just snap on. It’s a wonder these things don’t fall apart just driving down the road. lol

I did. I found those pieces from another trim Explorer that are smooth then I wrapped them in piano black vinyl to match the center stack and rear console. No idea what trim or model…I found them on eBay.

I can’t believe I waited so long to do the Aviator screen swap. It’s hands down my favorite interior mod.
