Going to look at some 23 STs. What features do I need to verify are there, missing, deleted, ghosted by Ford? Any test drive tips?

I was not aware they removed the heated steering wheel in later years. All the STs I saw had them.

How haul mode has trans temp gauge and all modes have engine temp gauge. Boost IMO does not matter unless your datalogging.

Hello Ive got a black 2020 explorer st a few days ago (Concerns)

I really feel like this stuff you should be talking to whoever you bought the car from.

    Steeda Rear Dif Brace

the subframe is not supposed to move around so much. That is why the bolts snap, wheel hop happens, and handling suffers. I myself would put on a brace for safekeeping, but it is probably overkill unless you launch all the time.

They technically aren’t the same screen, but they definitely could’ve programmed ours better. I don’t really care though. Sport mode has amazing looking gauges, and it’s not like I am going to stare at a boost gauge as I drive down the road.

    Offroad Mods

Very few have gone down the off road path you want to go. There is a guy on Facebook who did a pretty neat job turning his ST into more rugged. As far as off road parts, the lift and a timberline skid plate is all your going to find.

Will tuning void your extended warranty

This has been discussed a lot. A lot a lot. Some dealers won’t care, some dealers will be a pain to work with to get a warranty work done. If tou are concerned about any warranty tuning or adding any aftermarket parts are not for you. If they deem the part the reason for the problem they can...

Hello Ive got a black 2020 explorer st a few days ago (Concerns)

Unless he launches a lot like Tyler Clark than he will be fine. IMO I would get a brace even if I have a 2-bolt if I was going to launch even once.

    25 or 24/23?

I agree they do look better, but the interior is pretty nice. I don’t see it worthwhile to upgrade from the previous years, especially if they are cheaper than the new ones.

Suggestions on upgrades to 2020 ST

ZFG tune is the only way to go. Catch can is good. You will definitely need an intercooler. There is a huge rabbit hole that you can go down as far as aftermarket parts, what are you looking to do with the car? Also, you were mentioning you had a 1-bolt differential, you will want a diff brace...

Did you contact who you bought the car from. Maybe they have service records that will show what coolant it is.

Hello Ive got a black 2020 explorer st a few days ago (Concerns)

If you have 1 bolt on the rear subframe, don’t launch the car ever unless you want to break it. Get a differential brace if you launch the car at all. If not you don’t need to worry about it. If you have a 2-bolt subframe you are one of the lucky ones, although not many ‘23 came with them.

Hello Ive got a black 2020 explorer st a few days ago (Concerns)

87 octane is perfectly fine for the car, and Ford states it works fine. If you want optimum performance premium fuel is the best, but it won’t hurt the engine to use 87. The electronic grinding noise is maybe the fuel pump priming, our noise just sounds like belts though. What makes you think it...

What Brake upgrades are available for stock wheel size?

Every single one is available on the stock wheel. gt350 brake swap, gt500 brake swap, trackhawk brake swap, Rotora brake kit, and super forged brake kit.

Almost time to replace 21" Pirellis any recommendation?

Tyler Clark and @UNBROKEN swear by them. I am a fan of Michelins so I have had no experience with them but maybe they can chime in.

The biggest straightest exhaust is best?

Agree with @TMac bigger is not always better. The stock exhaust has been proven to handle a lot and 3” will not net worthwhile, or maybe any gains until you reach built levels of power.
