Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

I raced Stangs that constantly broke their 7.5" ring gears until Ford upgraded them to 8.8" diffs. The ST's rear axle bolt issue (of which the jury is still out on it's fix and number of occurrences) seems small for right now. At this point, I'm not going to overreact and just wait to see...

In light of an inane comment, the posturing for an irrelevant point, I'll compare logical thought to nonsensical musings. A Van: is not an SUV A Sedan: is not an SUV A Truck: is not an SUV Hope that was informational enough for those in need. Time to search for those who possess critical...

    Rear end damage

I'm not an engineer, but if a hardened bolt is all it really needs then I'm ok with that. Otheriwse, Ford knows that not fixing the issue opens them up to laswsuits.

You are right, I am comparing two different classes of SUV's. That was my intention, to ask if an extra $50k is worth the additional accoutrements . Actually, it's about both size and quality. And my noting of mpg was not for the sake of Nav owners, it was for the sake of comparison. That...

Quick Answer: One short of what's necessary! Barely larger in cargo volume and width, more passenger volume. Worth an extra $30k-$48k? DIMENSIONS: NAV vs. ST Wheelbase: Nav 122.5 in / ST 119.1 in Length: Nav 210.0 in / ST 199.3 in Width: Nav 79.9 in / 78.9 in Height: Nav 76.3 in / 70.2 in...

Ford decided Gorilla Glue won't slow the ST down like a good flash would, so they rejected it.

I remember buying a brand new 2004 SRT-4, it was $20k, fast as heck and worth every penny!

    Rear end damage

For now, I don't even think Ford knows what they're going to end up doing. Especially since they're putting off a "fix" date until end of Q2.

Where on earth did they add an extra 1,225 lbs in weight? It's lateral acceleration/braking/mpg numbers are more reminiscent of a vehicle from the 70's. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a39317584/2022-lincoln-navigator-drive/ By The Numbers: Navigator / ST 0-60 mph: Nav 5.3 sec / ST 5.2...

    Rear end damage

So much for their being the "Ford Authority". Lol NHTSA isn't currently showing any recalls on my 2022 4WD ST either (even though my build date supposedly falls within the range of 22S27).

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

As MrHoward said, yours is good to go. Unfortunately, mine isn't. Probably the same guy who said "We can fix this with a pcm update."

Maybe having the rear end fall out of the vehicle during stressful driving is part of the "ST Driving Experience"? Nope!

hahaha Well, I had a bunch of new performance cars that remained bone stock, including a trio of Mustang GT's, a Fusion Sport, a Taurus SHO and a KIA Stinger GT.

I sure hope so! I didn't plan on modifying my ST, so hopefully everything should be good to go (there's that word "hopefully" again Lol).

As did I, but now I have a brand new vehicle who's axle bolt could break off at any time!
