Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

They'll say "You have your full 400 hp, but the torque management parameters have been adjusted."

    Rear end damage

As of today, there are no recalls posted for my ST on NHTSA (note the refresh date of 4/21/22) but there is a note about it on MyFord (which posted it a week earlier on 4/14/22)...

    Rear end damage

I didn't read through all 23 pages of this thread, could someone please tell me how many owners have actually experienced this failure? Maybe I should start a specific thread "Who has had a bolt failure on their subframe?"

Yup, as of now we're definitely short on info.

What was the build date on your ST? Mine was ordered on 11/17/21 and built on 3/17/22.

FYI: Maximum Speed In Gears ...

Ford Guy was figuring for an 18 mph shift in first gear (which occurs at 3,270). Going into 2nd gear at that speed (18 mph) would bring him to 2,090 rpm. That would be a drop of 1,180 rpm. So, your math is basically correct for what you're trying to compute.

FYI: Maximum Speed In Gears ...

If I understand you correctly, you would like to know the result of each gear's MPH Per 1,000 RPM. In that case: 1st Gear = 5.5 MPH Per 1,000 RPM 2nd Gear = 8.6 MPH Per 1,000 RPM 3rd Gear = 12.0 MPH Per 1,000 RPM 4th Gear = 14.5 MPH Per 1,000 RPM 5th Gear = 17.0 MPH Per 1,000 RPM 6th Gear =...

FYI: Maximum Speed In Gears ...

P.S. Interesting note: 60 mph needs 3rd gear and the quarter mile needs 5th gear

FYI: Maximum Speed In Gears ...

Publications like C&D and R&T used to have detailed road test charts that showed maximum speed in gears. They rarely do them any more so I did it myself. First 6 gears for stock 20"/21" ST wheels (outside tire diameter is the same) at maximum engine RPM of 6,000 - 6,250 - 6,500:

2020 Explorer ST Humming/Rattle When Accelerating

Man, I remember when loose heat shields was something that happened to vehicles with 50-60 thousand miles on them. Not new cars. Lol

Cool, let us know how it turns out. Did they try the hose clamp thingy first?

Correct, the hose clamp "fix" doesn't work: But this does:

MPG: ST vs. Stinger GT AWD

I was getting ~20 mpg average with my Stinger, now getting ~19 mpg with the ST. Not bad at all considering the ST makes more hp while also carrying an additional 700 lbs in weight!

2021 ST rattling bulking noice going over small bumps!

2020 Explorer ST Humming/Rattle When Accelerating

Okay, I just confirmed that the rattling flex pipe issue still exists on 22 model ST's.

2020 Explorer ST Humming/Rattle When Accelerating

Has Ford fixed the flex pipe/cat issue on the 22 models? With 500 miles on the odo, I heard a soft "rattle" a few times on start up. Went away after a short drive.

Headlights - one is slightly warmer

OCD. Both a blessing (finding real problems) and a curse (finding imaginary problems). Good luck man!

SHO vs Fusion Sport vs ST?

These were the quarter mile times from my other Ford V6 twin turbo's (100% bone stock). I'll have to make a lap with the ST after I get some miles on her (less than 500 now) to see how it compares. 2014 SHO 2017 Fusion Sport

22 Iconic Silver in the driveway!

I like all types of vehicles, I just never had an SUV (or even a truck) before now. I owned/raced a dozen different Stangs, had a Taurus SHO, a Fusion Sport, etc. In my youth I had a '69 Mach 1 390, a '69 Nova SS 350, a Datsun 240-Z and a bunch of other cars I can't remember. Lol Speaking of...
